What do you wear to an Awards "black tie gala" Presentation?

When you have been nominated for a business award?

If it was day time - I'd know what to wear

If it was media/arts - I'd know what to wear

But Business/Evening/Black Tie - I haven't a clue?

Please help (not necessarily with an outfit to buy - but more with a style/idea of what sort of thing to wear - if that makes sense)

I like the first better too. Personally not keen on the colour but love the style.

How about something like this or this ?

Yes - they are similar, but a bit longer, I think (might be wrong difficult to tell from the pic of the purple one)

I thought the purple one looked shorter (I was guessing at knee length). If it is longer then I would go with that...but I do think it should be at least below the knees.

I like that dark pinky red one of JNs tho, that was def longer...
