Are Mason Pearson hair brushes worth the money?

Just that, really! I have shoulder length, fairly thick hair. Is it worth spending £30+ on a hair brush? Also, my DD(10) has long fine hair which tangles very easily - will it make any difference to her hair?

I have a Kent bristle brush too which is brilliant, would love to know how much more brilliant a MP could be for the extra £50 or so....

I think people say MP hairbrushes last for years because you’d never throw one away. I’ve lost count of the number of alternative brushes I’ve bought for my family over the years but all except the MP brushes get discarded after a while; and then binned at the next clearout.

Yes they are. They are beautiful objects, feel great on your scalp and make your hair shine Smile

I would never have dreamt of spending such a ridiculous amount on a hairbrush myself but was given one a few years ago - one of my best presents ever. It's a pleasure to use every day and I would buy one now.

I want to know where you can get one for £30 though - I thought they were at least £50.

The smaller ones are quite a lot cheaper, and as a pp said, they're great to stick in your handbag (wouldn't be so great if you have masses of hair though).

I’ve got one of those big MP brushes (mixed nylon and bristles) that my mum bought be when I was 14 (I’m 38 now). It’s currently in my wardrobe gathering dust as my hair has become so thin and greasy I’m scared to use it. I’ll have to dig it out for DDs to use.
