Hello everyone!

I thought I'd start a new thread since we bought so much stuff we filled up the old one! Who's coming with me?

mowglik I think they were sold out in most sizes pretty quickly last year but with the usual trickle of returns if you checked in the mornings. I remember a medium coming up on John Lewis a few days after Christmas and not being able to justify buying it as I’d just got a diiferent colourway as a Christmas present.

Finally got my gold stripe sweatshirt today! It’s really cosy and not as boxy looking as I was afraid it was going to be. Another keeper.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 30/11/2017 14:14

My parcel arrived, yay (not in the UK so patience is required)!

I love the Amour long sleeved t-shirt, perfect for wearing with (my usual uniform of) jeans. I have high hopes that the lettering survives being hand washed by virgins in asses' milk or I'll be in touch with Customer Services!

The Tara dress surprised me somewhat. The skirt is tight and hasn't got much give yet. I compared it to last year's (which has more give) but the composition and size are consistent. I'll have to wear and wash it a few times so it has less ping Grin. The colour is not charcoal to me. It's more of a sludge grey but I wanted a plain colour to use as a base I can brighten up with coloured cardigans and / or coats and scarves so it will do the job for me.

I am looking forward to getting the Atlas shirt. I took a gamble and sized down as I have the sleeveless summer wrap shirt which is very roomy. Does anyone have it, and if so is it quite large?

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2017 14:51

I ordered the wrist warmers last year and returned them as I felt they were too soft and would go out of shape. Think the ones with the thumbs may be better.

missfliss · 30/11/2017 14:54

I've ordered the new Stella jumper with the gold / silvery star, and fingerless gloves ...

Talisin · 30/11/2017 15:59

mowglik actually it looks like the L & XL black/gold Stella sizes have already sold out (although still available at John Lewis) so I wouldn’t hold out much hope for post Christmas.

user1493065871 · 30/11/2017 21:21

My Stella jumper arrived today, the blue metallic star one.
The colour is great but the jumper is not very flattering on me to justify the cost.
I like the loose fit but it is just too boxy, and would look so much better if it was longer in length.
It finishes in the middle of my bottom, so makes me look wider and bigger. it would probably look fine with a skirt, and if it was cheaper I would probably keep it for that.

My Black Friday order arrived this week and this is my verdict:
Sintra shirt - love this but I ordered the white with blue stars and it looks too similar to my Alessia shirt. The fabric and style is so nice though, I might get the black instead...
Blossom dress- I love this but again very similar to my Dahlia dress and not sure if it’s worth having 2 similar dresses?
Oslo skirt; too short - going back!
Ivy dress; love it, a definite keeper!
Lightning Bolt jumper - bought this in grey/yellow and it has some imperfections in the stitching, so it’s going back. I like it but am wary of Hush knitwear anyway because of the reviews. Think I will stick with my Boden jumpers!
Raglan top; keeping this, will go with everything and at £25 I can’t say no!!

DelaneyHasAUseForMe · 02/12/2017 07:32

Still haven’t decided whether to keep the Marina skirt or not...loving the thought of wearing it with a jumper and boots as well as dressing up with heels for a night out. I’m talking myself into it.....Grin

ilovecherries · 02/12/2017 09:16

My metallic stripe jumper finally arrived yesterday. I do like the raglan sleeves - much less boxy on me than the lightning bolt sweat. But neither black nor gold are meant to be 'my' colours. Looks good with marina skirt and Boden leopard print boots, though.

RubbishMantra · 02/12/2017 12:43

Has anyone noticed that the labels are attached differently? With a little round safety pin instead of the plastic square seal thing? At first I thought I'd been sent returns that had had the labels snipped off, then re-attached at the warehouse or wherever.

Laska5772 · 02/12/2017 13:06

I got a glitter easy dress.. am still thinking about it .. I got the size S and its huge , but is nice .. (I am a size 14, often 16 on top!!)..

mowglik · 02/12/2017 13:10

Thanks talisin I’ve got some credit to use up at John Lewis so will go for it, esp if the gold is more silvery than gold, it sounds lovely.

Do you need to size down for the Stella jumper or is it a true fit? I’m a size 10

ilovecherries · 02/12/2017 13:13

Delaney, I've worn the Marina a fair bit - mainly very casually with looser jumpers and ankle boots or trainers and opaques. My (85 year old) mother is scandalised. The immortal words 'I think the menopause has turned your head. You look like a dirty stop out swanning about at 9 in the morning with your evening skirt, your man's jumper and your gym shoes on' might have been uttered. GrinGrin

Laska5772 · 02/12/2017 13:33

cherries I wear my marina skirts with sweatshirts and boots .. What id really like to wear with them (and possibly the glitter easy dress) are these DMs . Sadly they dont have them in my size... Sad

chloechloe · 02/12/2017 13:44

Grin at your mother cherries!

mantra I think everything I've ever ordered has had the round safety pin on.

For those of you with the embroidered Love jumper - there is an issue with the stitching coming loose but I've discovered that you can carefully pull it taut again from the reverse. Indeed I suspect this is the root of the problem - that they haven't put a mesh panel in the reverse as you usually get with embroidered items. Possibly because it can't be attached easily to knitwear.

ilovecherries · 02/12/2017 13:56

Oh wow, Laska, these boots are gorgeous. I've only tried DMs once and was so taumatised by the wearing in process that I gave them away after two months, never having been worn outside.

Laska5772 · 02/12/2017 14:01

Ive never had DMs at all. cherries .. I did wonder if they would be uncomfortable.. Anyway as I cant find any of those in my size its a moot point..
Id quite like some glittery boots though now

ilovecherries · 02/12/2017 14:08

I'm rather loving both of these just now. Maybe mum is right and menopause has made me crazy.

mowglik the Stella is fairly roomy. I’m a 12 with boobs and got the medium and if not for the boobs I think the small would have been OK (I like the slouchyness though).

Hairq · 02/12/2017 14:51

Any opinions on the lightning bolt sweatshirt? I ordered it for my best friend for Christmas and it's lovely quality, but I just tried it in and it looks terrible on me - body, sleeves too long, shoulders look massive, body too short. She's about a dress size smaller than me but a similar shape so I'm now think My that it will probably look bad on her too. Is that anyone else's experience?

Hairq · 02/12/2017 14:51

Boxy, that should say not body.

ilovecherries · 02/12/2017 15:01

Hairq, yes pretty much. I kept it because I loved it (navy and silver is a combo that just works for me), but I should really have sent it back because it has all the issues you mentioned. I've also got the gold metallic stripe one, which arrived yesterday, and it's a much better fit. It's smaller (both in medium) and although it's not longer, the sleeves are shorter and it has raglan sleeves which slims it all down round the shoulders. Entirely the wrong colours for me, though :(. I've washed the lightning bolt a couple of times, and it's kept it's shape, hasn't faded and hasn't peeled. But really, it's become a house-sweatshirt, which wasn't my plan for it.

Hairq · 02/12/2017 15:59

Thank ilovecherries. I think I'll send it back. I know she's absolutely love the print but I don't want to give her something that she won't wear out of the house because it's not flatterzing. Honest feedback much appreciated x

Theonlyoneiknow · 04/12/2017 17:48

Does anyone have the Tara dress in Charcoal? I am a big fan of the style but am finding this colour a bit meh. I can't put my finger on it! Will it grow on me ?!!
