How old is * too old * for a leather jacket?

Just that really. I'm 47. I ordered one and I loved it. I sent it back because I thought I'm too old . I'm regretting it.

My only reservation - won't your bum get cold? I hate getting a draught!

I had one like that when I was a teen (it was a dreadful veggie plastic one) and I loved it! Did get a cold bum though - although maybe that was because of the shorts I used to wear!

I've got a few and I'm 50, as has my 80 year old mother, they're classic I think

I did reorder. It's from Next (website only, £46 or £49, can't remember), but from Miss Selfridge, if you see what I mean.

I actually think they look better on 40+ women (maybe because mostly only women 40+ I know wear them or maybe they suit a more sophisticated style!)

It's not real leather, no, but it's beautifully soft and not remotely plasticy or anything. It genuinely is lovely. I don't think you could really tell to be honest. It'll do for me anyway.

If you like wearing it, you will have a good excuse to treat yourself to a lovely real one at some point!
