Brilliant harems under £25 or so? Or do I need to suck it up and invest in Hush harems?

MrsD28 · 27/10/2017 13:17

I am about to go to Australia (yay!) with a 18 month old (not yay!) and I want to be as comfy as possible on the flight. I usually wear leggings but want something even comfier and looser, so am thinking of getting some harem pants.

I have seen lots of recommendations for the Hush harems on MN, but I am struggling a bit with the price tag (I would like two pairs, as toddler will almost inevitably necessitate a change of clothes at some point). Has anyone found any brilliant harems that are a bit less pricey - max £30 or so? I am a 12-14 on the bottom, if that helps.

I got some for about £3 on eBay which are amazing. A couple of my friends bought them as well after seeing mine in the summer. I’ll try and find a link for you...

Here you go:

I have them in black and grey. So comfy and very flattering.

Joinourclub · 27/10/2017 13:43

I got some comfy hareem style trews from next.

AesopsMables · 27/10/2017 16:23

I have the Next Petite and a pair of ASOS petite

both far better fit for me as I am only 5’2 than the Hush pair I invested in and have only worn once Angry
I do a fair bit of long haul travel and always wear these on the plane as so so comfortable

Just bought a pair from the above eBay link so will see how they compare

Thanks!

RedBlackberries · 27/10/2017 16:30

aesops I just jumped on the Asos website (5,2 as well) and they've almost sold out of every size. I've snapped up one luckily in my size though Wink. Not sure how they'll suit a pregnancy bump but I want them!

TisapityshesaGeordie · 27/10/2017 17:32

Sainsburys do a knock off version which are pretty good. Very soft and comfy and quite flattering.

jelliedeel · 27/10/2017 21:43

Next jersey joggers are my travelling pants. They're lightweight and if you remove the annoying heavy dangly bits on the ends of the ties they are perfect. Pockets too.
£20ish

jelliedeel · 27/10/2017 21:44

I'm the same height and wear the regular length in Next.

mercurymaze · 27/10/2017 21:45

i have the hush ones, i never wear them outside i'd look a prat. :D they are just nice for indoors. the \link{https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/bottoms/joggers\uniqlo joggers are very nice!}

SquareWord · 27/10/2017 21:47

I like them but can never work out what to wear on my feet other than sandals. What do you wear when it's too cold for them?

Beketaten · 27/10/2017 22:05

Are these the Sainsbury's ones? tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Black-Joggers/131879676-Black

mammmamia · 27/10/2017 22:17

Get the next ones, they are a good thick material and very very comfy.
I wear with ballerinas if too cold for sandals, you can always take some socks for the plane as well.

emmskie03 · 27/10/2017 22:41

I did not feel the Hush Harem were worth the money I spent on them so I would recommend looking for a cheaper option.

StillCantDecideOnaUsername · 28/10/2017 07:25

I've never owned a pair of harems but have always wanted some as they look so comfy. Everyone I see looks fab in them but I'm convinced I'd just look like I was wearing pjs. So - how do you style them? What do you wear on top? What shoes?!! I'm tempted with those cheapy eBay ones...

HeyMicky · 28/10/2017 07:35

I'm also flying to Australia with two little ones. I bought these www.forgottentribes.com/collections/harem-pants-uk/products/black-cotton-harem-pants

LunaTheCat · 28/10/2017 07:38

Just looked at Hush harems online. .?are they worth the money. Also only five foot nothing and they look long

ScrabbleFiend · 28/10/2017 07:38

These are really comfy, sort of cross between harems/joggers www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0520628003.html

Therealslimshady1 · 28/10/2017 07:59

The Hush ones work for me, but I am 6ft!

So they may overwhelm shorter people

They are flattering though, in an unexpected way (worn with fitted denim or leather jacket)

MagnifyingGlassSearch · 28/10/2017 08:49

I bought the Hush ones and they were fine on me even though I am only 5.2".

However, I also have the M&S ones and I really couldn't justify spending all that money when the only difference was the cuff. I send them back.

I have these and they're fab:

TisapityshesaGeordie · 28/10/2017 09:20

Yes, @Beketaten, that's them. I have them in grey.

Beketaten · 28/10/2017 11:39

Thank you @TisapityshesaGeordie

Northernlass99 · 28/10/2017 13:39

I just did a 12 hour flight and wore the H&M ones linked to by Scrabblefiend and they were lovely. Soft, comfy and fresh.

Next changed their black harems this year and they are not nearly as nice as the original ones, much thinner fabric.

TBH those Sainsbury's ones look more like tracksuit bottoms IMO. The others mentioned on this thread have more of a harem shape.
