Please can you make your sailor tops available in some non-striped plain colours? I love the shape and the weight of the fabric but some days I don't feel stripy. A couple of neutrals (black or navy plus white or cream) and a bright every season would be perfect.

Thanks.

Anyone else got a request for a clothing company (other than M&S - we've had whole threads about them!)

And enough with the cold shoulder nonsense too!

LunaTheCat · 19/10/2017 15:44

Dear all. Stop using nasty , cheap fabrics. They do not last and turn most woman over 40 into an oil slick.

Worriedobsessive · 19/10/2017 15:46

Dear Seasalt

Please make the waists lower. Anyone with knockers look spherical if the waist is too high.

Please make your reversible tops with more "other" side options than stripes. Other than that, you're great.

TheNotSoGoodWife · 19/10/2017 15:49

Dear all clothing manufacturers,

I am tall and fat and hourglass with big feet. If you could address all of those issues, I would be very happy.

Many of you address 1 or 2 in combination but is it such a leap that at 5ft10 I might also be a size 18/20 WITH A WAIST Angry

Oh and 42 is not and will never be a size 9 Hmm

missyB1 · 19/10/2017 15:53

Dear all clothes shops please can you make warm winter jumpers that are long enough to cover my bum!
Enough of these flimsy thin things that end at the waist!

Anatidae · 19/10/2017 16:42

Learn to sew. Seriously. There are some great really good quality independent pattern designers out there, it’s not all frumpy patterns any more. You can easily whip up basics in fabrics that are a million percent better quality than all but the best shops. There are even a couple of uk online places that sell the actual fabrics places like missoni etc use.

I’ve just whipped up a ton of merino wool thermals for me and ds. A couple of hoodies in lovely fabrics, merino wool and longer in the body etc. T shirts, tops, easy.

Itsanicehotel · 19/10/2017 16:50

Dear White Stuff and Fat Face. Please can you decide the measurements of each size of garment and then stick to it. I don’t expect to find three size 12s that all fit differently on the waist, hip and legs. Also Fat Face if I wanted to permanently wear sludgy, dull colours so I resemble a dunnock, I’d buy everything from an army supply store.

BikeRunSki · 19/10/2017 22:23

Dear Seasalt, Please make the waists lower. with knockers look spherical if the waist is too high.

This. I have 4 dresses wrapped up and ready to return because the waist is barely below my boobs.

AnguaResurgam · 19/10/2017 22:37

Dear everyone,

We might flirt with cold shoulder tops and silly sleeves in summer on holiday when we're feeling frivolous and don't need clothes to be practical. So we don't want them when back in real life, and definitely not in the autumn.

SheffieldStealer · 20/10/2017 01:05

Dear M&S

Why cut the toes off boots? Boot weather and peep toe shoe weather are two totally different seasons.

Plus I am old enough to think they look like fancy dress tramp shoes.

LadyRosalieBeauchamp · 20/10/2017 01:18

Dear all clothing makers please make some loose shirts which are not like sacks and more thin loose jumpers please (also not sack like)

Motoko · 20/10/2017 23:28

Dear All Brands

Please make the measurements on your size guides the actual measurements of the clothes. e.g size guide says waist is 29 1/2 inches, but the actual size is 32 inches.

Thank you.

(A little tip when out shopping for clothes: take a dressmaker's tape measure with you and measure the width of the clothes, rather than going by dress size.)

Comedyusername · 04/11/2017 11:37

I agree!!!! I am tall with long legs, a bit overweight with big boobs and big feet. A constant battle to find clothes/ shoes that fit.

But Seasalt shoppers I have my eye on one of their Janelle coats. Do they ever have discount codes? I don't want to buy one and find there's 20% off the next day. Thanks in advance!!
