Please can you make your sailor tops available in some non-striped plain colours? I love the shape and the weight of the fabric but some days I don't feel stripy. A couple of neutrals (black or navy plus white or cream) and a bright every season would be perfect.

Thanks.

Anyone else got a request for a clothing company (other than M&S - we've had whole threads about them!)

@Anatidae you could have a profitable little sideline going there before you know it! I want a navy and a teal or peacock blue plain boat neck top (and I'm terrified of normal sewing machines, never mind overlockers home ec trauma runs deep).

Sea salt waistlines always too high for me as well.
Used to love white stuff jade jeggings and spent a fortune there but recently it’s all been crap fabrics.

Where can one buy decent jeggings with a really high rise I wonder??

marmiteloversunite · 17/10/2017 19:09

Dear Shoemakers,

As well as making ladies shoes in larger sizes can you train your staff not to look at my teenage DD in horror when I ask for a size nine. It does nothing for her confidence.

Thank you Uggs for making your shoes in larger sizes!

IDismyname · 17/10/2017 19:17

All you need is this pattern from Tilly and The Buttons, some interlock fabric, and a sewing machine!
She has idiot proof instructions, and I've made several 'short' Cocoa dresses in the form of Breton tops.
You can alter the length of the top, the sleeve... anything!

New look 6838 is a great boat neck - take that and some fabric to a seamstress?

Tissuti patterns have one too

Laiste · 17/10/2017 19:21

Dear Next,

Your long line spaghetti strap vest tops are fucking great! Whyyyyyyyy do you only do them in black, navy and white when all your short vest tops come in about 100 colours????

expatinscotland · 17/10/2017 19:22

'Dear Shoemakers

A lot of women have feet bigger than an 8 that’s days. '

And their feet are not wide! Big feet do not necessarily equal wide feet.

zen1 · 17/10/2017 19:25

Dear H&M

Please would you ensure that the waist on your jeans and trousers has some correlation to the size depicted on the label.

Viewofhedges · 17/10/2017 19:25

Do you mean my joules striped dress has shrunk and I've not necessarily got THAT much fatter?

Thank you. I've been feeling awful about that - now just sad about the dress!!!

cashmerecardigans · 17/10/2017 19:35

PS shoemakers
Big feet do not mean wide calves either

CountFosco · 17/10/2017 19:36

Dear GAP,

Your high rise bi-stretch ankle skimmers in cotton are probably the most perfect trousers I've ever worn. Please restock them in cotton and don't pretend the viscose version is the same and try and sell it for the same price.

orenisthenewblack · 17/10/2017 19:46

Dear seasalt, please make your stuff cheaper so I can buy stuff. I'm happy with non-organic cotton just so that you know

BikeRunSki · 17/10/2017 19:48

Dear everyone

Please make your tops longer. I’m not that tall.

TeaAddict235 · 17/10/2017 20:09

Dear L'Oréal and co.,

If your products are meant for curly ladies, e.g. 3b-4c, please do not hesitate to use those actual hair types in your marketing. It helps to clear up confusion. Please stop using 1a-2a for wavy and extremely curly hair.

Same for magazine companies, if a hair style really actually compliments curly hair à la 3 & 4, then please don't show advanced level plaits and cornrows in hair types 1 and 2, it really doesn't make sense and is very hard to do without a thousand hair grips and tears.

Fakingit36 · 19/10/2017 13:22

Dear pretty much all workwear shops - please follow Boden and do "long" size on dresses. Large chested and long torso and everything rides up (echo comments above about ribcage waists). Long size really helps hence 75% of work clothes from Boden. Keep up!

Dear companies like e shakti who want to compete with high street but offer semi customization by measurements: please do more !! Improve the fabric quality. We will pay for things that fit and are good quality.

GrumpyOldFucker · 19/10/2017 15:07

Dear eBay sellers,

If you’re selling something second-hand, include photos of it rather than just the stock ones, and describe the amount of wear it has had. There’s a massive difference between “worn for 10 years when I was mucking out the pigs” and “worn once while I was wrapped in a protective layer of cling film.”

Yours grumpily, Old Fucker.

minipie · 19/10/2017 15:17

Dear anyone

Please make fitted jeans in proper thick, stiff denim to hold my wobbly bits in. (Ideally high waisted too). Yes I know it's harder than just making them thin and stretchy so they "fit everyone".

Thanks.

minipie · 19/10/2017 15:18

Dear anyone

Please make some clothes for pear or hourglass shapes. Lots of women are apple shaped but not all of us. And we don't all want to dress in vintage or retro.

Thanks.

minipie · 19/10/2017 15:21

Dear Jigsaw

The last few items I've bought have not worn at all well. I have holes in my jeans and pilled bobbled jumpers. Shame as you have lovely colours but I've been put off.

Caulk · 19/10/2017 15:24

Dear Seasalt

Please make your waist lower.

N0tfinished · 19/10/2017 15:26

Harbour top aficionados, here is a version of harbour top but a bit longer. I have it on right now, it hits me a couple of inches lower.

They had a top last year called the Bay, it was similar, you might find it on eBay...

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/10/2017 15:26

5% elastine,in anything. Just stop it.

Yes, plain tops please.

PlateOfBiscuits · 19/10/2017 15:28

I second BikeRunSki’s plea for tops that are actually long enough and follow it up with a plea of my own for long sleeves in (not so) long sleeved tops!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/10/2017 15:41

Yes, longer tops too please!

BewareOfDragons · 19/10/2017 15:41

Dear Shops,

Please make women's tops longer and without flouncy sleeves, ruffles, bows or cut outs. Just some nice sensible tops and sweaters. I have noticed the tops and sweaters in the men's departments are sensible: no flounce, no ruffles, now bows, no stupid cut outs, decent lengths...

Oh, and please give women more options in shorts when warm weather returns. Why must they be so short? Men's shorts are sensible and not skin tight. Why must women's be?
