Help needed with a wedding dress

The one my DDs like best I don't think suits me...

it's this one

It's a lovely dress, but I'm very straight up and down and it seems to highlight my (lack of) waist.

I think I prefer this one but maybe it's too simple, too bridesmaidy.

Is it? I like their Sana dress too but this is a small country wedding, 2nd time for both of us, and I'm not sure it's right

Frumpy is no good, you have to feel amazing on your wedding day and completely comfortable.

Love the monsoon ones but sorry the tedbaker and the top shop ones are not wedding dresses whoever posted those. Day dresses for sure.

pieceofpurplesky · 11/10/2017 23:16

The second monsoon one is beautiful

Do you like this present?

It’s the dress I wore to my small country wedding a few years ago

PM me if you like it and would like more details as it would be within your budget

Wedding dresses are such a personal thing-this was the only one I loved after looking at what seemed like thousands online Smile

WillRunForCake · 12/10/2017 10:47

I recently got married in this one and i loved it! Its a BHS one (found on Ebay after they shut) and is so gorgeous and floaty but not over the top or a big train :)

That's stunning!

Madeyemoodysmum · 12/10/2017 18:26

That's so pretty willrun

presentcontinuous · 13/10/2017 10:00

Beautiful, TheBoy, that's a gorgeous dress. As this isn't my first time, I don't want a train though, it'd feel too over the top for my age and circumstances. But thank you!

WillRun that is lovely!

The Monsoon one (2nd link) has just arrived! I've had to stuff the box under the bed though as DP is here. Will wait til he's out sometime this weekend to try on...

I love the third one. It’s all in the finish though. What about trying a tried and tested with pics and reviews dress maker? They are often far cheaper than you would expect.

Mustang27 · 13/10/2017 10:31

Oops note to self read full thread before posting. Can’t wait to see Monsoon dresses on. I loved DameDiazepam second and third dress choices.

Other Note to self have mumsnet shop for wedding dress for me if I do it again. You guys are awesome and they are all bargains.

BoredOnMatLeave · 13/10/2017 10:34

Love both the Monsoon ones and I actually prefer the second dress in your OP

presentcontinuous · 15/10/2017 14:40

Finally tried the Monsoon one on and... well apart from it being rather tiny (need size up), it was beautiful and a lovely cut and I liked it a lot. However, it was a bit too shiny for my liking (sad)

So I am still looking. Any more ideas? No train, simple, elegant, not expensive...

That’s a shame on sizing and shininess Sad. Hope someone comes back with some more elegant styles for you.

Debby08 · 16/10/2017 09:29

I'd go for the second one. It's simple but very elegant looking.

Have you seen this article, some are awful and some are a wee bit over your price range but there is a couple of nice ones. I suck at shopping sorry lol.

presentcontinuous · 16/10/2017 14:16

My favourite in that Marie Claire link is the one at £2.5k (smile)

I am veering back towards the Ghost Sana dress but it's expensive. Any other ideas?

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 17/10/2017 01:20

Although for the money you coukd have the Ghost Sana, of course.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 17/10/2017 07:29

The Godiva one is gorgeous!

presentcontinuous · 17/10/2017 08:38
