What do we think of these boots? I can't find anything that's right

Boots here

I want high-ish, warm-ish winter boots with a low heel or wedge in navy or grey (or muted tan or stone type colour).

They don't exist. They didn't exist last winter.

Are these boden ones okay, or horrible?

theyre quite nice. Look warm. Are they real fleece? I wouldnt pay that much if they werent

StillCantDecideOnaUsername · 02/10/2017 11:32

I like them too. But wouldn't pay that much for them!

Floisme · 02/10/2017 11:34

I think they look nice although I normally find suede doesn't wear well and that those fleecy linings get grubby quickly and are also too warm for indoors.

So if I could afford them fairly easily, I'd go for it. But if they were going to swallow up a big part of my budget I'd hesitate. I might try somewhere like New Look instead for a cheap and cheerful version and then I wouldn't mind so much when they got trashed.

KatamariDamacy · 02/10/2017 11:41

Sheepskin lining. They're very very top of my budget. And I'm not totally enamoured of them, they're the nearest I've found to what I actually want.

I like them too, but definitely on the expensive side for me.

MulhuddartDrive · 02/10/2017 11:50

Few options on Clark's website

brown and fleecy

tan or grey

goretex

KatamariDamacy · 02/10/2017 11:52

I'd settle for these, despite the fact that I don't like them as much, but out of stock in my size.

Nothing at new look comes close to what I want.

Ttbb · 02/10/2017 11:58

I like the ones with the yellow zip but not the others

imjessie · 02/10/2017 12:23

I wouldn’t wear them but wow they lol beautifully made . £160 isn’t too much for great boots but there are always discount codes around .

Openup41 · 02/10/2017 12:36

I like them.

KatamariDamacy · 02/10/2017 12:37

Don't mind the second clarks ones - but they're similarly priced anyway...

Soooo, anyone have a boden discount code? Wink

OP posts:
martini · 02/10/2017 12:43

6T2C I'm not 100% sure if it's still an active discount but try it anyway x

martini · 02/10/2017 12:44

10% off at Boden the code was for ,meant to say x

BulletFox · 02/10/2017 12:50

Like them, they look snuggly

NinonDeLenclos · 02/10/2017 12:52

Floisme · 02/10/2017 12:53

I hadn't noticed the lining was sheepskin so probably not as hot and sweaty as a synthetic one.

I've recently discovered Celtic & Co - only tried their knitwear so far but very impressed with the quality and I like the look of their values too. Is there anything here that you like? Similar kind of price to Boden but machine washable.

TipTopTipTopClop · 02/10/2017 13:01

I don't love the heel or sole, I think they're too squared off. But they're overall cute.

KatamariDamacy · 02/10/2017 13:10

Celtic and co not bad, but I was hoping not to end up with brown. Also too lazy to do laces.

Bump for the evening Smile

dont get those ones from schuh. I can tell just from looking at the way the sole is stitched, that they wouldnt be properly waterproof.

CountFosco · 02/10/2017 19:53

Boden shoes are one of the best things they do, I have knee high boots from there that are 15 years old and still going. I'd get them but I'm a shoeaholic and am trying to be sensible and not buy these velvet lovelies since they are not the practical work shoes I want at all.

MulhuddartDrive · 02/10/2017 20:48

I just spotted a pair of v nice Superdry boots on the next website. My page keeps defaulting to the Irish site so linking probably won't help, but you should be able to search them.

KatamariDamacy · 02/10/2017 21:30

Oh Count, now I want velvet shoes. They won't keep my toes warm and dry.
