Help from anyone else whiffy of armpit...

Please tell me how you counteract this problem!!

I don't have BO or anything, but I'm tired of being so... MUSTY in the armpit region. Blush

It's only bloody 9.45am, I showered (thoroughly!) at 7am, applied liberal deodorant. I've done nothing more energetic than school drop-off since, and now I'm sitting at my desk sniffing my armpits which are, as usual, distinctly musty and strong-smelling.

They were fresh as a daisy 2 hours ago!!

So what can I do? I use Vaseline Intensive Care deodorant - time for a change? I used to use a v powerful sort of stick one but only for evenings out or when I was wearing posh, hand-wash clothes. I don't really want to use something that strong every day, but there might be something in between that and my (obviously rubbish) Vaseline one?

And shower gel. I use a Korres one, lemony scent, sometimes a jasmine scent. As I say, I am fresh as a daisy from the shower but should I maybe be using something more heavy-duty in the shower?

It's just such a pain, all my clothes end up with musty pits after (barely) one wear. I've got the new trick of using anti-bacterial stuff in the washing machine so things come out fresh even at low temperatures, so my clothes aren't musty when I put them on.

I guess it's posisbly partly the deodorant itself that smells a bit but I don't know what to do about the musty, ever-so-slightly sweaty (though NOT a sour BO!) smell from my armpits themselves.

Very embarrassed and hoping someone can help!

If you can get Sweat Block in the UK, it works really well. I'm sweating buckets off and on because of the menopause and it has really helped me not be selfconscious and wondering if I stink when I'm out of the house.

Late to the sweat party, but my absolute favourite is Sanex stick deodorant. I've tried Dove, Sure, loads of others and this is the only one that works for me, plus is aluminum and paraben free. It's not always that easy to find - you need the bigger pharmacies or supermarkets but is fab.

Noone's mentioned Vichy 48 hour treatment which not only smells lovely is brilliantly effective. It's pricey but fab. Teenage DS pinches it which annoys me but it solves the whiff and doesn't at all smell like Lynx Grin

Someone has already said it but honestly PitRock is brilliant. Standard deodorants make the issue worse. It seems really odd but this crystal works wonders. It doesn't stop you sweating...whuch is good because you don't want to block pores...but it stops the smell completely. It's worth a go. Pricey but lasts a long time

Have come to this thread via the 'soap not shower gel' ones :D Re the clothes ... as well as spraying on white vinegar before washing, use half a cupful of white vinegar as a fabric conditioner. Smell goes once clothes are dry and good for your machine too! Also, use washing powder rather than liquid or capsules. Makes a big difference. I use Ecover powder (bulk buying when on offer) and never have a problem with bad smells despite getting sweaty.
