Facial oil

I just discovered that dehydrated skin is different from dry skin. 😊

I've been using a wee free sample bottle (overnight) from Clarins and the difference immediately, especially on the skin above my top lip is amazing. Would bio-oil do the same job or does it have to be specifically facial oil, anyone know?

Thanks so much everyone! Will definitely try some.

Pukka d face oil is absolutely gorgeous, DVD really effective.

Bio oil is fine, I started with that a few years ago and now use either Body shop oil of life or Neals Yard Rose oil. I thought I needed to remove the oil but learnt that my skin was producing excess as it was dehydrated!
It's changed my skin completely!

Blue orchid oil really broke me out the two times I have tried it, shame because I loved the smell. Huile prodigeuse however, love it

I use coconut oil. Ideal on my dry skin.

Could someone link to a product they would recommend? My skin is so dry.

I buy my oil in Home Bargains £3.99 in the cooking section

Just to be the dissenting voice... I use bio oil on my face and my face loves it.

Possibly I have an easily pleased face.

I've just had piercing scar reduction that required facial stitches, I was recommended to apply bio oil to help with healing.

Slightly worried after this thread. Would anyone else recommend it for would healing?

Currently using this and really like it. Available from Superdrug. And the money goes back to the NHS.

I use Kiehl's Midnight Elixir oil.....I love it. It's clear why it's such a cult product!
The Clarins oils do smell lush though.

Another vote for Neal's yard rose face oil. l switched from Estée Lauder ANR to this beauty. Really makes a difference.

Has anyone mentioned Liz Earle super skin oil yet? This is the first oil I have tried on my oily skin and the difference is amazing.

I've just had piercing scar reduction that required facial stitches, I was recommended to apply bio oil to help with healing.

Go for it - I've used bio oil on DDs (many) surgical scars and it's often commented on at follow-up how well they've healed, and how quickly they fade.

Only after the wound itself is healed though (i.e. no blood or scabbing) - it's just for reducing the scar.
