Right everyone, please be impressed with my dedication, I'm in an internet cafe in Leicester Square and decided to come and start a new thread while I was looking up the address of things we want to do today.

As ds and I are in London being tourists I have walked miles and miles and miles in the last 3 days and most wonderful it's been too. However, not great on food front.
Although today I've only had an Americano and a smoothie so far and I'm planning sushi for lunch as I want to persuade my fussy boy to try it. Hmm.

Anyway, I am DETERMINED to lose another stone in the next six weeeks, I have a party to go to in May and it's a 40th of a school friend so people I knew from school will be there, gosh, the pressure

Anyway, welcome to an all new shiny week 1 everyone. Onwards! And wishing all of us good luck and happiness

Thanks www - but at not liaising with your London pals you hussy - sounds like you are having a fab time without us though
I am really going to make an effort this Spring too after being pretty nesh about engaging with Boot Camp. Consider me enrolled.
Errr, so far I have just sat about in my PJs while dd sprinkles sequins over the whole house

Caribbeanqueen · 02/04/2007 10:50

Very impressed with your dedication www.

I've copied and pasted the rules for you here:

The 10yy rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Admirable dedication WWW. And have fun in London with DS .

LOL at DD Marina!

I've been with you in spirit and have valiantly followed the plan. I'm starting to get 'ooh have you lost weight' comments (and about time too). I feel so much more healthy and I really appreciate a glass of wine at weekends now that I'm not glugging it during the week.

Having said that, I've had to bring out the big guns as it's now a 4 week countdown until my London flight and another stone must go. I've lost weight sooooooo slowly - last time I did exactly the same and lost 3lb a week without fail. Grrr. I'm blaming it on my age and being in the wrong hemisphere. That's the only thing that's different.

Today I've eaten Salad and oooh yummy, salad!

I've bought a new facial thingy to 'brighten up my complexion' and got stacks of gorgeous Clarins freebies to pamper myself with.

I'm keeping myself on the straight and narrow by visualising the massive, delicious, roast dinner I'm going to have the second I set foot on British shores. . Parsnips, Yorkies, Crispy, Crunchy, fluffy roast potatoes......

tortoiseSHELL · 02/04/2007 13:11

Hello, signing in for the new 'strict' regime!!! Going away next week, but is for sporty ski-ing so all good on the exercise front....

Www - hope you have a good time in London - btw did you get my email?

sunnywong · 02/04/2007 13:13

oh rounds of applause to both of you

no, am fat lard again
had period from hell last week so had to keep my iron levels up with burgers and crisps

will get my act together tomorrow, honest, but have started cycling and doing weights every day so that's OK then

Clary · 02/04/2007 14:13

Ooh this sounds good, can I join at the start here then?

Need to lose a stone to get to cod's famous "nine stone something" and feel better about myself.

Already don't drink (sigh) but the other thoughts sound good.

How am I going to get to be by 10,30 every night tho? And can I read once there??

winnie · 02/04/2007 14:47

Clary, reading in bed past 10.30 adds towards the happiness quota Welcome

I am still here (just) and have to admit last week was a bit of a wash out boot camp wise

Today has not been good as I am home with ds and although I've exercised (I walked, he peddled)everything else is rubbish Although happiness factor is high right now

Will start with gusto tomorrow.

Well done WWW on your dedication. Hope you had a good day with ds

twocatsonthebed · 02/04/2007 14:52

can I join?

dd is now 4.5 months old, and whatever was going to shift of its own accord has done so. Which leaves quite a bit more to move. Plus I've been feeling a bit low, so need some encouragement to get out/dig the allotment/not eat biscuits...

motherinferior · 02/04/2007 15:04

OI WWW

off topic, you around in the following week so I can exploit you for professional porpoises?

tortoiseSHELL · 02/04/2007 18:43

Wow, that's really good www, well done, and well done for doing it 'properly' iykwim, emphasis on health and happiness etc. xxx

tortoiseSHELL · 02/04/2007 18:43

and batters - fantastic. Marina, I'm definitely a temporary (I hope) storage area...

Clary · 03/04/2007 08:43

OK just checking in.

HAve been doing th ebody lotion sunscreen etc today and last night.

Re walking - does cycling count? cos I cycled home last night (15-20 mins) and in again today (ditto, tho downhill).

WideWebWitch · 03/04/2007 12:28

I'm back! But will post more later as dd (understandably, she hasn't seen me since Friday) wants my attention.

Well, after 4 heavenly days in London my damn skirt is tighter . That'll be the wine and lovely food then, but god, it was so high on happiness quotient

Ds and I have:
Been to the London Dungeon, which was fantastic
Walked along the south bank and mooched around Borough Market, looking at braces of dead rabbits and octipii (is that right?)
Saw the slides at Tate Modern although too late to go on them but ds wasn't that bothered so it was ok
saw anmimated dinosaurs at the natural history museum
felt the earthquake reconstruction there too
met ex mil and ex sil for a mooch around Covent Garden/Buck palace
met ex dh for lunch/Imax 3d sea and Lions
Had an exhilarating rickshaw ride. I took a photo of the very fit young man's arse as I was so impressed that his lithe strong body could carry me AND ds at such speed through central London

Went to Forbidden Planet where ds was allowed to spend some money on Yu Gi Oh cards
And I taught ds to hail a black cab and he is now proficient so that's good, it's a vital life skill imo.
It was all great fun and very cool and I thought of you all as I walked past Vinopolis

But on the food/drink front, not good although v pleasurable:

Friday night Indian takeaway (tandoori chicken though) as was babysitting for my sister. 2 glasses of wine.
Saturday pizza express chicken and veg salad for lunch with 1 glass of Chianti
Sat night loads of delish lebanese food and a bottle of Champagne + 1 other glass of wine with friends
Sunday, McDonalds sausage and egg Mcmuffin for breakfast as requested by ds
Sunday afternoon large pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, 3 glasses Chardonnay and one of Chablis in Covent Garden
Monday breakfast, aforementioned Caffe Nero smoothie and Americano and then
gorgeous singapore noodles and crispy duck and pancakes in Chinatown
then Pizza and Chianti again last night. I would have gone for sushi but my fussy boy wouldn't have touched it so I'll save it for my next trip with dh instead.

Loads of sleep though, I was asleep by 9.30 last night and although I woke at 3.30am and didn't get back to sleep for an hour we didn't wake again until 8.30am and I've slept til then most of the last 4 days.

And loads of walking, with sunscreen. Bliss.

So, this week I need to:

Walk a lot
Eat less
Drink less or at least make up for it by walking a lot (I have visitors staying later for 2 nights which will be lovely but will mean I cook lovely food)

Well done everyone, will come back to congratulate you/bollock you (Delete as appropriate) later.

MI, no, am back at work on 10th but email me if you think I can help.

Sounds like a fantastic weekend www. Very .

So, does anyone have a foolproof way of keeping me off the mini-eggs. They are pure evil and I can't get enough of them!

WideWebWitch · 03/04/2007 14:49

Hmm, they're 15cals each caribq, so you could er, count out 10 and just count them in? ok, how about um not buying them? I like them too, very easily done, eating loads of them.

CAM · 03/04/2007 18:04

hello hello everyone

Thank goodness for a new start every Monday!

B/fast: small amount of organic cereal with organic natural yogurt, oj and coffee

Lunch: ham sandwich (brown organic bread), apple, banana, apple juice

Supper: roast beef, green beans cooked by dh.

Exercise, walked a bit to and from car parked half a mile away from work.

Having lovely baths with bath stuff and body lotion brought back from holiday.

Sorry but am having small amount of wine (norty)

Clary · 03/04/2007 21:16

Well had a good day really.
Mushrooms in sauce with rice and veg for lunch, tea was risotto (not huge portion tho) with brocolli and yogurt and starwberries to follow, plus grapes and oranges and apple for snacks during day.

Handcream - check.

Exercise - cycled home in time to go for big long walk in the woods with family so extra happiness points.

swedishmum · 03/04/2007 23:48

I miss London so much - hate living in the sticks. It's such a great place for children .
I'm doing the water, sunblock, and my new foundation is great but I'm still eating too much now it's the holiday - all the girls in dd2's class made pizzas here on Saturday, and dd1's friend who moved abroad is back hence sleepover, hence unnecessary panic food....
Dh has suggested I go to India on his next trip in a couple of weeks so am on the strictest of regimes now (once I've finished this glass of wine) - green tea, walking and grapefruit only for me now. Pity dd2 has friends round to do Easter stuff tomorrow. I'm sure I'm strong enough to leave the chocolate to the children!

sunnywong · 04/04/2007 01:15

yes, I can't quite bring my self to utter
"I'm very happy for you, WWW, seems like you had a nice time" because I would get struck by lightening.

jealous, vair vair jealous
