How many bikini's is too many for an 11 day holiday?

Private villa, just me and my Partner. I spend most of the time in just the bottoms.

I know it's daft to take loads, but the trouble is I love pretty bikini's!

Like the other one you've bought too..v pretty.

Why haven't I looked on DP before??

BadToTheBone · 19/07/2017 19:24

Pre kids I'd take one for each day, very few other clothes though, ah those days, stares into distance.

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 19:24

By the way iismum, it's usual to end a sentence with a full stop but you shockingly chose not to. How very terrible....

You wrote it incorrectly three times, suggesting it wasn't a typo but that you don't understand when to use '

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 19:30

DavetheCat2001 DP has some lovely ones. In previous years I've found nice ones in H & M and Matalan too. Don't think I'm feeling confident enough for a public bikini shot!

Fair enough! Grin

I've been really struggling this year to find any I like. I'll know in future to try DP first!

Enjoy your holiday!

RubaDubMum89 · 19/07/2017 19:32

Too many bikinis? I am unfamiliar with this concept... I've been knkwn to go away for 7 days and take 20 before... I have A LOT of bikinis haha! Although I'm my defence, I cannot stand to wear a bra in the heat, so I use bikini tops instead!

Suomynona · 19/07/2017 19:33

Rioja123 so people then think it's some sort of duty to publicly make someone feel rubbish? How kind.

Ahhhh Suomynona, a lady after my own heart Grin. I am also of the hell and high water g&t by the pool club Grin. I should also add that poking myself isn't a usual holiday event for me either, but you will never regret being prepared, not being prepared ion the other hand - plenty of scope for regrets there! Grin

Joking aside I love sun holidays and pack a myriad of clothes, shoes and bikinis. There is a time and place for travelling light, on a holiday you worked hard for and have been looking forwards to isn't one of those times. Plus I think holiday wardrobe shopping is great fun and a nice part of the build up Smile

LoupGarou · 19/07/2017 19:40

Pooing, not poking!

Frouby · 19/07/2017 19:45

What is with the apostrophe police? It's style and beauty not a GCSE English exam?

OP I am taking 5 on a 1 week holiday. Take as many as you bloody want.

Bostin · 19/07/2017 20:13

No one is suggesting 12. That is how many is too many IMO.

ItsAMackerel · 19/07/2017 20:24

I am probably the wrong person to ask. I once took 42 pairs of pants on a 2-week holiday. Blush

LoupGarou · 19/07/2017 20:32

I don't think twelve is too many, that's only one per day and a spare. Bikinis go against your skin like underwear, would anyone consider twelve pairs of pants for an eleven day holiday excessive?

There isn't a number which is too many, if you can fit them in your luggage and want to take them go for it. I usually go away for 14 days and take around twenty bikinis, as I said previously, one per day and then some spares for spontaneity Smile.

Kr1stina · 19/07/2017 20:32

My goodness, you lot are harsh ( on the packing and the grammar ).

I'm a light packer and even I take three bikinis. After six kids I no longer have the figure for them but I don't care.

JaceLancs · 19/07/2017 21:06

I will be taking 3 swimming costumes on my next sunny holiday (also villa with private pool) DD will take a different bikini for every day - if I had her figure these days I might find more swimwear that I liked!

LoniceraJaponica · 19/07/2017 21:18

"I don't think twelve is too many, that's only one per day and a spare. Bikinis go against your skin like underwear,"

Yes, but they get washed, or don't you swim in your bikini? I wash mine out at the end of the day and leave it to dry, then wear my other one the next day. I don't spend all day every day in a bikini as I like to explore and visit places of interest as well as lounge about.

My bikinis last for years.

LoupGarou · 19/07/2017 21:33

I don't do washing on holiday Lonicera I have a holidays are not for housework policy which works well for me Smile.

That said I split my holidays so I will spent x days in one location sightseeing, and then x days in a different location lounging/scuba diving, so when I'm on the beach based part I do spend all day pretty much in a bikini.

Kr1stina · 19/07/2017 21:54

I spend all day every day in a bikini because I will be sailing and windsurfing. I never 'lounge about' until the sun is down and I have a glass in my hand.

TonicAndTonic · 19/07/2017 22:11

I've got a couple of reversible ones which are good for not getting bored on holiday...

Breezybreeze · 19/07/2017 22:18

The grammar comments make me cringe. So rude and unpleasant.

Take as many as you like. I'd take six!

Nospringflower · 19/07/2017 22:34

Well, I am just back my holidays and took one tankini! Big mistake. Huge!

Am now convinced I need to upgrade my swim wardrobe. The bikinis everyone was wearing tended to be very small - showing your arse like a thong ish style - and different colour/pattern to top. So, i'm afraid your Dotty P ones fail on both counts!

Nospringflower · 19/07/2017 22:36

LoniceraJaponica · 19/07/2017 22:55

You wouldn't get me in one of those. I don't tend to holiday in places where there are lots of young and beautiful people anyway. I agree that you don't see many tankinis about, nor do you see many one piece swimsuits.

CountFosco · 20/07/2017 06:43

I have a workmate who took 14 bikinis on a 2 week holiday. TBH if you're going to be wearing bikinis all day every day that does seem quite reasonable. If you are going with the 'wearing one and one in the wash' view then why not just take 2 pairs of pants and 2 dresses as well (and obviously you'd only need 1 pair of shoes). Surely that's all you need? head tilt Piffle.

I go to Scotland for my holidays so take 0 bikinis but take at least 5 pairs of shoes and a vast selection of coats. If I was the type to go on a beach holiday then I'd take tons of bikinis.
