'Going out' top needed before next week 😮

Have a few things to go to over the summer. Not in same place or with same people.
Could do with a nice top to wear with black jeans and heels (I guess)
In a size 14/16 that covers tops of arms / belly. I ordered this as I thought it would fit the bill but it was hideous.

Any ideas please? Needs ti be here by mid week

Both of those tops look really good. You've got a lovely figure (great legs!) and there's nothing at all wrong with your arms.

The pale top looks great. If I were you, I would look out for some slim fitting tailored trousers to ring the changes.

I'm similar size/age to yiu and find Phase Eight has good tops and dresses for my shape. You don't need to have such a 'fussy' top, you could go plainer in colour but get some fab statement jewellery and bag.

@SmileAndNod you've got a lovely shape, great proportions! Both of the tops look good, I prefer the second one because it shows off your waist but the first one is very nice too.

I've just ordered that phase eight top Elspeth thank you - hope the arm coverage is enough. Trying to find a pair of slim black trousers to re try the pale top

I've lost my way and I panic buy loads in one go and then end up sending it all back because I feel hideous. I think if I knew how to dress it would be so much easier.

If you decide you need another top I've got the Mint Velvet one Remus linke to, in a sort of café au lait colour, with subtle pink thread. House of Fraser sell it. Might get the other one as well - hadn't seen that.
I guarantee it'll flatter your figure!

Goddess Do you handwash it? I'd buy one, as that shape suits me, me cba with handwashing.

Ok the dresses - for a date night with DH and a birthday party and birthday drinks in September...

Date night - black dress
Birthday party - red dress

The red dress looks too big for you. It's pretty but seems to be hanging very straight down. The black one is better but I don't think it goes with those shoes, have you got any heels that aren't sandals?

I can't really afford to keep both dresses as this is the first time I've been out in tears and probably won't go out again for another 5 years!

I can literally only just squeeze my arse into the red dress. The black one feels even tighter and I don't have any other nice shoes (on account of never going out)

Think silver top and jeans and black dress both look great. Would keep both of them.

This is meant in a nice way, people aren't going to pay too much attention to what you're wearing. Wear what makes you feel good and comfortable. Having fun will make more of an impression on people than your outfit.
