I've just started work as a receptionist in an art centre. Is red lipstick suitable for day wear or should it be kept for evenings out?

I wear it all the time. I wear bright pinky reds mainly. I think bright red can look harsh so choose your colour carefully.

I think red brightens a face and is empowering.

I wear lipstick every day, whether working or not, in various colours.
The times it gets commented on are when I wear red or hot pink. I find older men (I work in a customer facing role) tend to make comments about me looking glamorous, making an effort, that I look "dolled up", ask me if I'm going out later - I've even been asked if I'm trying to impress someone. So I think it is quite an old fashioned view. I love bright lips!

Yes of course. I never have as I don't find it practical eg talking, eating and drinking and I don't get chance to reapply it.

I usually wear lipstick for work, just a nude/ neutral shade.
It isn't a conservative working environment and thought that the red would make me look less drab on performance shifts were we have to wear all black.

Yes, absolutely. I work in a conservative (financial services) office but I will wear red lipstick (to brighten up an otherwise v.demure, all brown/grey/black etc. outfit) every so often.

It's a less intense red which I like - sometime reds tend to wear me, rather than the other way round!
