Just impulse ordered these Birks - Fab or Fail?

The finish is called shiny snake. I really can't resist anything iridescent, it's my 90s clubber origins coming out. They're "low in stock" at ASOS and that was enough to make my finger twitch in PayPal's direction.

But are they.....not good? Tell me honestly!

I can't believe I have to wait till next week for them! Of course there will be a modelling shot.

I think the Mirayas or whatever they're called will be more forgiving than the Gizeh as the toe post is leather and not resin. I have a friend who wears that style 12 months a year, yes even in the depths of winter. She must have boiling feet.

The finish is gorgeous - DH says they look more like dragonscale than snakeskin but that just makes me love it more.

Sadly the Arizona apparently does nothing for me or my cankles so they'll be going back and I will be getting the Florida instead.

After extensive googling it seems that you can get a few styles in this finish in both normal and narrow fitting (these are narrow as I suspected) if you go to the Birkenstock site. But not the Florida for some reason.

But actually these don't feel narrow. This is a comparison between my old Florida's in a normal width and the shiny snake in narrow. A bit of space on either side of the toes but I was surprised how little difference there is, so will probably get the narrow Florida's anyway.

Absolutely love the op Birks! I have brand new patent pink Madrids aitherwise I would order them. I would style the op birks with all black and wear them to work. Funky pedicure compulsory!

Though actually if I put them back to back there is about 1cm difference in the width across the lovely bunion area. But tbh I don't think you'd need the normal unless you had quite pronounced bunions as I have a bit of one and it seems fine in the narrow.
