Just impulse ordered these Birks - Fab or Fail?

The finish is called shiny snake. I really can't resist anything iridescent, it's my 90s clubber origins coming out. They're "low in stock" at ASOS and that was enough to make my finger twitch in PayPal's direction.

But are they.....not good? Tell me honestly!

I love Birkenstocks! They get a hammering on here but I love them. Wear your snakeskin with pride!

I bought them on Amazon and if they have the filled in foot they are supposedly narrow. I have pretty wide feet with a gorgeous bunion and they are wide enough so my advice would be to try them.

Also don't size down. I am a 5 and needed the 38.

I'm a 40 and ordered a 7.

Here are my Birkies currently on my feet as I holiday in Malta. I have them in white and black but I really like those iridescent ones. I take a 5 and wear a 5 in Birkies. I find them generously sized.

I bought the toe-post version (gizeh) in this finish three days ago. Loving them.

Mmmm, I like them, but I love all Birkies.

They keep popping up on my FB feed. Lovely although I prefer the gizeh style.

I think I need a new pair. I have madrids in red patent and aqua patent and a silver gizeh pair that are a bit past themselves. I'd love rose gold gizehs I think. Not sure if they do them. Off to research.

Found mirrored rose gold gizehs. Have ordered.

I owned Gizehs a few years back but they kept hurting my toes. I remember that I kept stumbling over them and then that solid toe post would garrotte me in between my toes - ouch!

This finish comes in a number of styles, but I thought the Arizona shows it off more cos they have the thickest straps so you can really see it.

Am a bit peeved at ASOS though, cos I just checked and nope, it says nowhere in the description that they're narrow. Nor does it show the little emblem on the footbed which shoes which it is. That's rather bad form, right?

Cider blame away! I actually haven't told DH yet....not that he would object - he "approves" of Birkenstocks cos they're practically orthopaedic. But I really can't afford them this month.....oh well!

Love them.... 2 strap are ugly cool in my opinion. ( which is good obviously) I've got white and "old "school brown leather which are the ultimate in ugly. Not sure what colour I might go for next. Maybe orange??

I've just remembered I have a sage green pair of gizehs too although they aren't real Birkies and they fart so I don't wear them often. So dh would probably claim I don't need a fifth pair.

Obviously he would be wrong.

OP I was telling myself only yesterday that I don't need another pair of Birks this year after admiring a pair of red patent ones on a mum at school but those are divine and I am now really coveting badly !

LOVE them - I have a rather ancient pair of these in the same style but in a very dark colour that could be navy, charcoal or faded black.

Gorgeous! I can't wear Birks because I have monumentally stupid feet but I wish I could. And these would be at the top of my list!

I hate you OP. I've already got 3 Birkenstock Gizehs (silver, licorice, antique lace), and this thread just made me purchase these.

I've got a pair of shiny snake cream Mayaris on the way, now a little bit scared that the toe post will slice my foot

The mayari ones are incredibly comfortable- the ones I don't get on with have a hard plastic divider and are t-shaped across the top of the foot.

These keep popping up on my pages too, and I need them, but can't quite work out the colour. Are they 'shiny snake black'?

(Clearly I love them, although Gizeh for me.)

A bit more searching suggests you can get 'shiny snake black' and 'shiny snake black multicolour' - confusing?! I take it these are the SSBM?

oh i like them! ...I have the almost identical rocketdogs, but in discotastic glittery silver. I bought them to wear when nipping in and out of the house, as they are really ugly, but they have grown on me and now I adore them.

Whitney I noticed that too, and I think they're the same thing?

On ASOS they're titled shiny snake but then in the colour dropdown box they're shiny snake multi.
