WWW's six week 10yy boot camp, April to easter WEEK FIVE

I cannot believe it's week five already. I think I need to re motivate myself on this, I've had about 5 days of Serious Lapses which cannot be allowed to continue. But anyway, anyone who wants some reading look here, surprise surprise main culprits are refined carbs and sugar but you all probably know that

Anyone can join, even though it's week four and once this finishes I'll be starting another because A) I want to keep going B) Some of you might want to and C) Anyone who's only just started can then keep going.

The 10yy rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

Have had a good week, with just a couple of blips on the chocolate front . Loads more fruit and veg than normal, and I've gone from exercise once a week to 3 or 4 times a week.

Body lotion everywhere, lovely smooth heels!

Wine at the weekend only.

Crap at the sunscreen.

Weight still not coming off though. Not sure how I can get the scales moving.

tortoiseSHELL · 18/03/2007 22:49

Had a good week generally, not enough exercise, today, well let's not go there, was bad bad bad.

But on with week 5!!!

I went to the drs today worried about a mole and although the mole is fine the dr was very clear about the need for sunscreen.

BP is very high so need to do much better on the boot camp esp exercise wise.

Will return later to report on the day. Onwards and Upwards everyone

Hi guys

Yesterday went a bit pear-shaped (literally?) as dd and dh had conspired to buy me champagne and chocolates so sabotaged my plan - otoh (on the other hand) it was Mothers Day so, its only once a year!

Today, small b/fast, small lunch, will have small supper.

CAM · 19/03/2007 17:22

Oh sorry that your dd is ill Batters
Nothing serious I hope.

Lizzer · 19/03/2007 19:04

WWW, yes this is only the start for me so don't go and leave me after next week, pleaseeeee

Cam, lucky you I'd say. I got a beautiful house made out of a tissue box from dd. Lovely and touching natch, but I couldn't eat or drink it could ?!!! [trying to act not bothered yet deeply missing my usual mother's day treat emoticon]

IKEWYM Batters, your dd being ill yet keeping social engagements!my dd exactly the same last wkend. Couldn't possibly go to school but suddenly perked up for the sleep-over...
Caribbeanqueen, my scales are stuck too...

Walked, creamed up, ate veg soup, oatcakes, chicken and veg, took supplements, drank water and herbal. Felt, and continue to feel, like crap none the less. I weighed myself though and the results were . Perhaps I should've waited for a couple of weeks....

Lizzer, you really have to wait a bit to feel better on this plan. But you will or we wouldn't still be doing it. The first couple of weeks are hard though.
Batters, glad your dd's better and sharp intake of breath at the Dermalogica...
Cam, ah, that sounds like a lovely mothers day.
Tortoishell, well at least some of it was good!
CaribQ, well done, don't worry about weight, worry about eating well and being happy and the other rules
winnie, glad the mole is ok and to have sunscreen rule re inforced (who was the sunscreen doubter?)

Not a bad day
Granola
an apple
M&S salmon salad, 320 cals
a few pine nuts, walnuts and 3 brazils
another apple
a packet of Wotsits
and about to have half a PE pizza and 2 glasses (I'm planning them, ds was VILE, VILE, VILE When I came in) of wine and watch Battlestar Galactica.
Walked half an hour at lunchtime
with sunscreen
loads of water
Will go to bed early ish
And feeling v fat and bloated and pmt ish.

Want to SNARL, frankly.

Ho hum. We are depleted aren't we? Where are Blackduck, Puddle, Wong, Jeangenie, Yoyo, Iota, lilibet, Arfy, Sobernow, Marina, Swedishmum? Hmm? Hmm?

Hi, I haven't disappeared. Went to Athens for the weekend with dd2 and ds so loads of walking, sunscreen, water. Also a few glasses of wine, but I did stick to healthy food most of the time. Back to the cold and damp with my twisted ankle.
Yesterday was bad for food as I was really tired but feeling better today so I'm back on task.
Right, back to setting up my business empire....

Another one who had a complete write-off day yesterday. The fact that the scales refused to budge made me think I might as well just eat crap, so I did .

Back on track today though and will go for a walk later.

As for this celery thing - can I eat with hummous/cream cheese

Seriously though, would love to lose a couple of stone, so may give it a go.

Iota · 20/03/2007 10:40

hello all

I am here but under siege my kitchen has been ripped out and my healthy eating is on hold.

Yesterday went out for lunch with dh (had a jacket potato and tuna , not a gourmet feast) and went for a pizza en famille last night.

Today I have ben in M&S for coffee and flapjack and a browse round the ready meals.

Pilates this afternoon - at least that's not affected by no kitchen

Iota · 20/03/2007 10:41

I want my clothes to hang off me Sobernow

Caribbeanqueen · 20/03/2007 10:42

No need to justify yourself, you have done really well!

Great inspiration Sobernow, however I wouldn't need to go and buy more clothes because all my old ones that are 3 sizes too small are still hanging around tormenting me with their smallness

Feeling ok today, I know its not an instant cure all WWW, but do you think you feel worse before you feel better? This dull headache and generally weepiness is getting me down

Eating well and going swimming tonight so I predict a good day for me. And wishing you all goodness too

Iota, hope your kitchen trauma is sorted soon...
