WWW's six week 10yy boot camp, April to easter WEEK FIVE

WideWebWitch · 18/03/2007 21:46

I cannot believe it's week five already. I think I need to re motivate myself on this, I've had about 5 days of Serious Lapses which cannot be allowed to continue. But anyway, anyone who wants some reading look here, surprise surprise main culprits are refined carbs and sugar but you all probably know that

Anyone can join, even though it's week four and once this finishes I'll be starting another because A) I want to keep going B) Some of you might want to and C) Anyone who's only just started can then keep going.

The 10yy rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

One of those gigs is it batters
I am going to my "We appear to be considerably richer and thinner than yaow" NCT reunion tomorrow night, so no drinking and cussing for me!
I hated having my kitchen done Iota, you have my heartfelt sympathy. And a big at dh skipping bail like that! He really owes you when he gets home.
Dd finishes every caper with a bellowed "ta-DA!" and a twirl which often causes her to fall over. I am absolutely sure that your dd's performances will be far less nerve-wracking and more polished batters
Really hoping to make the meet-up, will be lovely to meet some new faces. SHELL and I have only been corresponding for about four years now

CAM · 22/03/2007 14:36

Good afternoon ladies, glad to hear everyone being a bit perkier today Must be nearly Spring.

Did I hear you correctly Batters, you have snow today ? When do you break up for the Easter hols?

Can picture Marina's dd doing the ta-da thing

Breakfast: slice of Italian ham and a tomato, coffee and oj

Exercise: 2 hours retail therapy

Lunch: organic pasto with red pesto and parmesan, lots of water, an apple

Supper: will be roast free range chicken for me and dd (dh will be at some 3 course business dinner in Guildford)

Will not drink alcohol tonight or tommorow night as have to get up v. early on Saturday am

WideWebWitch · 22/03/2007 19:52

We had snow too.
You're all funny. Tortoiseshell, glad you're feeling better today.
Batters, are they mnetters perchance? I know some dodgy women like that too Why do you have to go to crap film? With dd away you could do wild and exciting things. OK, a non crap film then.
Cam, very good, very good.
Iota, you do indeed neeeeeed a hotel. The Marriott Courtyard is ok apparently, MK doesn't have any 5* does it?
Marina, hope some of NCT slot are considerably poorer etc than yoaw

Crap day. Well, crap week actually.
I drank lots of wine last night, it was very nice though and I wasn't too bad this morning, thank goodness as I had a packed day, nothing stressful or hard, just busy.
so

2 cold sausages in bread with butter and brown sauce for breakfast
curry for lunch
packet of crisps
and toast with butter and honey since I've been in
lots of water
walked a bit, prob half an hour in all today
forgot sunscreen
but will have early night it's the end of my week, hurrah!

And I saw a photo of myself today taken a couple of days ago and I am still v v v heiferish but much less than I was, definitely.

I think that you are all doing better than me - I knew this week wasn't going to be good.

Kitchen back on track - the dishwasher is doing its stuff as I type. I have sinks and taps

I also have a few bits missing, but nothing mission critical.

They are planning to finish tomorrow - somewhat tricky with no electricity, but we'll see

Just phoned in 20 minute report to dh.

Foodwise not good today - another ready meal, gingerbread man, treacle sponge and cream ( damn temptation from M&S - I bought them for the kids)

Exercise - hmmm - does being on your feet all morning doing a craft activity at school count as exercise? I was knackered after.

Lizzer · 22/03/2007 22:09

Hello all! To start with I am drinking a glass of wine but intend it to be only one....

Well done to everyone whether you're being angelic or not. I think you're all doing really well, not least by keeping morale up and having damage limitation strategies firmly in place! (Did that sound a bit president Bushy? )

Thanks WWW and everyone who told me that feeling crap is perfectly normal.. I am def eating enough (want to lose weight too but know I couldn't survive on air)

I tried quinoa today, for breakfast with soya milk and bananas...someone pls tell me, is it aquired taste? Cos as sure as heck it doesn't taste like creamy porridge as suggested by dr Gillian Mcdoodah

luch was roast veg (lots of), artichokes, olives and sunblush tomatoes... 4coffees, 1 pint of water. 2 juices. A piece of choc.

Handful of popcorn or 2

Dinner, a small curry, glass of wine
(I'll have herbal tea in a bit)
Not bad, me thinks...

Ah, I'm jealous of the london snow flurries btw....and the shops, and the culture, and the food, and the shows...etc etc etc

Marina Awww, how cute does your dd sound?

Lizzer · 22/03/2007 22:10

Much kitchenly congratulations to you Iota, praise be for the tap that floweth of water

Iota · 22/03/2007 22:27

oh yes Lizzer - I haven't been drinking my 2 litres - somehow didn't fancy water from the downstairs loo ( the hand-basin I hasten to add)

Lizzer · 22/03/2007 22:42

There IS something really wrong about downstairs toilet water from a basin...

WideWebWitch · 23/03/2007 13:54

Hello everyone. Lizzer, I've never had quinoa and never intend to, so sorry, I can't advise. But the idea here is to eat things you like (unless you go with the celery idea which definitely has its merits, clothes hanging off you being one of them ) and not to be hungry but to fill up on good healthy food etc and water. How far up North are you? (I think you're up North) Iota, water is good. Batters, is it tonight? Give said dodgy women my love

Not a bad day:
Granola
and went to M&S and got 2 of their wonderful seafood platters for me and dd to share for lunch so we had prawns, langoustine, mackerel, crab pate, crab claws, some flaked salmon and a few strawberries for lunch.
Tried to go for a walk with dd but she was cold quite quickly so we turned back so no exercise nor any prospect unless I manage it when dh gets in at 5.30, which I may do.
We've just made fairy cakes but I can resist them I think, I'm not that bothered about cakes
We were going to have poussin for supper but I forgot to get them out of the freezer and it's too late now, so might be half a pizza and salad But they're only about 400 cals for half a one so if I have an apple later and lots of water I might get away with an all right day. Have white Burgundy in fridge and will be drinking later when children are in bed.

And period started so it WAS PMT and I will lose about 4lbs overnight, in bloatedness etc which is always nice

Went to Brighton today to get my hair cut and almost literally bumped into Preston and Chantelle in the street, had to explain to dd who they were

I know, they're nobodies, but they're off the telly

winnie · 24/03/2007 11:04

I am feeling a bit fed up today (reality check having taken place re listing what needs to be done to get where I want to be) BUT you have all cheered me up. I love this thread

last night DH! and I took dd and ds to pizza hut as ds had such a good report on parents evening. It was very weird being a family again but good weird... however, ate pizza, wedges & new york cheesecake (only two pieces of pizza & only half the cheesecake) but today I feel hung over... which serves me right!

WideWebWitch · 25/03/2007 08:24

Glad to hear about good weird Winnie and glad this cheered you up.

Not great but not dire yesterday

2 pieces toast (OK) with butter (bad) and marmite (ok)
lunch was salad with tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, avocado, capers, but I also had 2 pieces white bread with brie (bad) and cranberry sauce (mmmm) and some chorizo and some roasted red peppers (good but had oil on them, they were from a market)
then walked 2.5 miles in the drizzle, which I LOVE, misty drizzle is my favourite walking weather - and used sunscreen
then had poussin for supper
popcorn
and 2 packets of Wotsits (200cal)
and quite a bit of wine
but was knackered by 11pm so went to bed and therefore felt fine when dd woke me at 6am this morning
and we had a very wonderful family afternoon lolling on the floor watching 2 episodes of Primeval on the projector and eating popcorn
So I'm very happy indeed. And I only have 4 days of work next week before I have 11 whole days off

Hi all - just wondering, did we decide a day to meet? I've a horrid feeling you said 21st April, and I think I've already got something on that day, so if it's not set in stone and could be another day without making it hard for everyone else, that would be great. Otherwise don't worry, another time!!!

I'm very happy to change the date, May, whenever, good idea Batters, do that.

No a great but not a terrible day

lots of toast with butter, god, when will I learn, I CANNOT have it in the house, I just have to slather it on everything if it's here
lunch was salad with salad dressing (organic but not partic low fat)
and some brie, oops with cranberry sauce on more bread
raspberries
blueberries
a veggie hot dog
a packet of Wotsits, a bit of popcorn (we watched another film this pm)
and about to have half a PE pizza
and have had 2 glasses of wine with 3rd in front of me
but it's been a blissful weekend

OP posts:
swedishmum · 25/03/2007 21:16

Not a good day for me today - toast and butter is the food of the devil. Have my grapefruit ready for tomorrow morning though and I'm working in the morning so won't be tempted to have toast after the school run. WILL keep it to a weekend treat.
Winnie, so good that it's going so well with your dh.
Bought a Ruby and Millie concealer as seen on 10 yrs Younger so expect to look fab tomorrow .
