Nooooothing to wear...

Please help me, oh style gurus.
I am going to a party on sat night.
I never go to parties - eek. It's a 30th birthday but they are all young 30s IYKWIM - hardly a mum among them. What shall I wear?

I'm thinking dark jeans, heels and a nice top - but which top? And which heels?

Any alternatives to jeans?
TIA

ggd is that not more daytime tho? it snice but i wouldnt wear it to a party

Gobbledigook · 16/03/2007 15:47

Hmm, I suppose so - it's jersey. I guess my shirt is not really a party one either - am only going to the pub!

I just can't get into tunics - they make me look pregnant! The red monsoon one is gorgeous though. Wish I could find a link fo rit.

nailpolish · 16/03/2007 15:48

ah see pub different to party

i like both your shoes, would wear them to pub for drink but not a party

nailpolish · 16/03/2007 15:49

colette · 16/03/2007 15:50

doggies that is a gorgeous colour, would be v nice with black leggings and boots or skinny dark jeans and boots or bootcut slim jeans and heels - you could go ott on the heels

prawnsmum · 16/03/2007 15:59

I think thats really nice just dress it up with silver jewellery

nailpolish · 16/03/2007 15:59

what is your hair like?

prawnsmum · 16/03/2007 16:01

skinny dark blue jeans and killer heels (if you can walk in them unfortunatly I cant!!)

doggiesayswoof · 16/03/2007 16:04

Hair is....a bit of a state, getting cut next week sadly (bad timing)
Growing it at the mo, so it's just above shoulder length, long layers, with a growing out fringe.

I like the idea of heels but can't walk in really high ones.

wedges i love too doggies

if your hiar is shoulder lenght and dark a nice pair of silver hoops (as big as you dare) looks nice with tunic and jeans (or leggings! i dar you to try leggings and not like them wiht a tunic)

nailpolish · 16/03/2007 16:09

leggings

wedge in this seasons hottest colour

t bar heels easier to walk in - dot p's have different colours

its a party remember you can always sit down!

doggiesayswoof · 16/03/2007 16:12

Oooh both those shoes are fab!
Esp the yellow wedges.
Gawd I can't remember the last time I bought shoes that weren't black or brown.
Going to ahve some fun with this.

nailpolish · 16/03/2007 16:14

imagine dark skinny jeans, the lime wedges and the black and lime tunic (would that go?)

or the orange t bars - there is a lot of orange and chocolate tunic around

dot p's have hundreds of tunics

prawnsmum · 16/03/2007 16:15

love the wedges

doggiesayswoof · 16/03/2007 16:15

Yes I was thinking of the black/lime tunic with those shoes. Would be cool.

OP posts:
nailpolish · 16/03/2007 16:16

i dont think its the same shade of lime although you may get away with it

prawnsmum · 16/03/2007 16:17

lime wedges and the black and lime tunic would look fab!!

MamaG · 16/03/2007 16:30

has anybody else noticed that naily likes leggings?

doggiesayswoof · 16/03/2007 16:33

I think the colours would be ok np - shoes are far enough away from the top (that's always been my mum's rule anyway)
