Let's talk shoes...ooh I'd love some new (stylish yet practical)shoes...

Ok. You talked me out of mary jane Dms on another thread a few days ago. I am TOO OLD.

What I need is a pair of hard wearing and comfortable, yet chic-ish shoes for the spring/chilly summer days. Need to be good with or without socks and work with trousers/jeans more than skirts (though if they do skirts as well that would be ace). I am a SAHM with 2 dds of 4 and 2 so 'NO!' to platform wedges!

Help me!

I'm 34, BTW, and wear a size 7 - 7 1/2. Long, narrow feet.

sassy I'll be watching this with interest.

I go from boots in winter to sandals in summer and never know what to wear in those "inbetween" months. I had a look around today but am never inspired by shoes.

I debated some ballet pump style flats but I could imagine them really rubbing at the heel.

JackieNo · 13/03/2007 14:17

I think she mentioned some Rocket Dog ones on another thread (possibly your original one), but not sure which ones...

CODalmighty · 13/03/2007 14:17

you want either trainers9 if ouare that way inclined) or pumps of some type you can wear wihtout socks

Fimbo · 13/03/2007 14:17

I got a fab pair of enclosed toe mules from TX Maxx the other day. They are Spanish and made with soft buttery leather. Even better they were reduced to £11.00. They look great with jeans/trousers and long skirts (can't do short skirts - horrible legs!)

Nope not trainers Cod. Have a pair of Converse low rise. Am mostly wearing clogs at the moment, but chilly on the heel at times.

Will now click on some links!

what about a pair of crocs ?

(hehehehe)

nailpolish · 13/03/2007 14:30

you cannot go wrong with pumps

sassy · 13/03/2007 14:30

Hang on cod - alternative-y? You are so wrong!
I'm normal SAHM - try to avoid jeans and fleeces if I can, dress up a bit where practical...sassy phsl at visions of self in gothic hair and black tasselled skirt with mirrored trim.

The mention of dms got you brking up the wrong tree entirely didn't it!

OP posts:
nailpolish · 13/03/2007 14:30

if you are skint new look have hundreds of pairs of pumps

sassy · 13/03/2007 14:33

Ok, links.

All pump types nice but with me long thin flappers ballet pump make me look like a clown. That said, I have my eye on a pair of canvas jobs like Jackie's link- but not until proper summer.

NOT the dm ones, Cod. Like your fly trainers but want a shoe not a trainer.

And np, I cannot run in heels/wedges. Not the fault of the shoe, just my inadequacy. Sorry.

sassy · 13/03/2007 14:34

Ye gads np NOT crocs!
