Ok. You talked me out of mary jane Dms on another thread a few days ago. I am TOO OLD.

What I need is a pair of hard wearing and comfortable, yet chic-ish shoes for the spring/chilly summer days. Need to be good with or without socks and work with trousers/jeans more than skirts (though if they do skirts as well that would be ace). I am a SAHM with 2 dds of 4 and 2 so 'NO!' to platform wedges!

Help me!

Oops just seen the bit about wedges!

nailpolish · 13/03/2007 14:37

what about Birkies? maybe when a tad warmer, but look great with jeans

sassy · 13/03/2007 14:39

Fimbo, I love those.
(Sassy contemplates learning to walk in wedges, then remembers local A&E dept has been downgraded to minor injuries.....)

I've got Rocket Dog pumps from last year, one of the most comfortable things I own (I have 48 pairs) at last count!

My fave footwear's Converse All Stars, couldn't live without them!

Primark usually come out with some nice cheap pump style shoes in the spring too.

Birkenstocks are a must in the summer for me.

sassy, I've only seen you from the waist up and you looked very elegant (under the table however you may have been wearing a tassly, mirrored tie-dyed skirt )

JackieNo · 13/03/2007 15:11

Don't rule out the wedges if you love them sassy - I'm a confirmed non-heel wearer, but have a couple of pairs of these for work, and they're incredibly comfortable, even for me. Try some on - you might be surprised.

CODalmighty · 13/03/2007 16:35

thos e pink things are vile

pointydog · 13/03/2007 16:52

thistle, 48 pairs of one type of shoe? What's happened there?

Pannacotta · 13/03/2007 16:58

Was in Clarks yesterday (need comfy shoes for my pregnant feet!) and they have a range of quite funky looking shoes which are really comfy, can't remember name range and no time to look for links but am sure they will be on the website. Range of colours too, black, brown, metallic etc... Am going back to get some when have time to try on.

sassy · 13/03/2007 16:59

OK, am off to Schuh soon. Been on website and there are a few contenders.

Thanks for all contributions. If nothing else, you have helped me sort out what I def don't want!

clarks are comfy. KNow what yoiu mean though sassy, they are never really trendy. STill makes me feel 10 years older buying clarks.

danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 13/03/2007 17:06

danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 13/03/2007 17:10

Having said that I'm in love with the fly london ones will try not to get my hopes up though because I've got really wide feet (ruddy useless genes)

ScottishThistle · 13/03/2007 17:15

Ha-Ha!...Not 48 pairs of one type of shoe!

48 pairs of shoes, won't even start to count the sandals & flip flops!
