Calling all doublewear users!

I use doublewear and love it as it covers a multitude of sins and stays on all day. However I don't like wearing it on holiday as it's obviously quite heavy. Does anyone have any good holiday alternatives that still give good coverage? Is the lighter doublewear worth trying? Don't really want to fork out too much money. Or should I just mix what I have with a wee bit moisturiser?

Ah, thanks justanotheryoungmother I've never actually seen it... Blush

WeeM · 06/05/2017 20:21

Got samples today of dw light and the nude one with the sponge but I think that will be too sheer. The woman in the counter thinks the light might still be too dark for me...Confused but we shall see. She also said if I want to mix the dw I have I should do it with primer rather than moisturiser...never thought of that before.

I love Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation. You can get it loose which I wear daily and a compact which I carry in my bag.

I have acne rosacea and it covers it beautifully. I use LM secret camouflage concealer if I need a bit of extra help.

In the sun it's wonderful too. I stayed in Australia for six years and it held it own.

I was a previous user of EL DW and loved it. This is great alternative me without being overly heavy.

I wear my DW even in 30 degrees plus Blush I absolutely love it.

I wear Fresco in the winter and Pebble in the summer. I would be interested to know how die hard DW users get on with the light version.

Well I have the dw light on today. The colour seems to be ok, maybe ever so slightly darker than I would like but I don't seem to have a line on my jaw. However I don't really feel that's it that much lighter than the regular dw. Not enough to warrant another £32 anyway. I'll try the nude and see how I get on. Interested in the laura mercier option too.

Haven't rtft yet so sorry if it's been mentioned, but Mac studio waterweight is a lovely dewy foundation and the shade NW13 is very pale

I used doublewear, and went to buy the light as I wanted something less heavy, and came away with the cushion one with the sponge. I find it gives great coverage without feeling heavy, though I'd prefer it without the sponge. I've bought it twice and am planning on doing so again. I did consider some of the other glowy lightweight foundations I've seen mentioned, but now I have my shade I'm loathe to have to keep sampling. Anyway, it does cover my dry, scaly psoriasis patches, in case you felt it would be too light for you.

Unfortunately the nude with the sponge doesn't come in my shade annoyingly but I'm gonna try it anyway. The assistant did seem to think it will slide off me a bit as I have quite oily skin but that's kind of to be expected a bit on holiday regardless!

I'll be trying DW light Beast. Need a trip to John Lewis, will also check out the bare minerals gel foundation (with powder this time). Ideally i would like something less heavy that I could slap on on the morning without looking..😀

mercurious · 14/06/2017 10:10

Tried Bare Minerals complexion gel with powder, but that seemed to defeat the object and ended up with lifeless looking skin. I prefer it on its own so i purchased for days when I'm not going out but just want a natural glowy look.
Was going to try DW light but the assistant couldn't find my colour. Wandered over to the Clinique counter where I was recommended their CC cream in light, the lovely lady gave me a sample and it's fab! It brightens the skin, is slightly dewy but not shiny, and has an spf. I returned later and bought some, now my favourite everyday summer foundation!
