WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, Feb to April, WEEK FOUR

WideWebWitch · 11/03/2007 22:01

Gosh, week four already, that's come around quickly. Everyone's welcome.

The rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

thanks everyone

batters, two stone... well done you! I MUST get back into it. You are an inspiration

Today has not been great foodwise & I've not exercised but everything else ok. MUST do better I've had hair coloured and am still feeling happy so that's great to report for a change.

tortoiseSHELL · 15/03/2007 08:24

ok, am definitely on for London! Don't do it the first week after Easter though (till 15th April), as am away on holiday then!

lilibet · 15/03/2007 08:49

I'm in Wigan I'm quite a long way north. I shall raise a glass of grape juice in your homour

Marina · 15/03/2007 11:48

Here I am, as prodded by Yoyo on another thread
I need to refocus too, but am doing some of the right things at least proper special k breakfast, plenty of water, sweeties and crisps pretty much gone (odd lapse or two last week )
Am feeling shifty about lack of exercise and focus so please all tell me to keep at it, I really am a bloater now
The last time I saw batters she was looking totally fab on this regime so she is my inspiration although I have to say that we were both plastered
I'd love a meet up! Including our West Country Correspondent...
And am grinning at winnie's wonderful news, I am soooooo happy for you
(Also loling at poor Lizzer's workplace torment - talk about supping with the Devil, you poor thing)

Yesterday was a good day that ended badly with a few glasses of wine. DD1 and I had a shouting match which gave me a thumping headache and sore throat. Feeling like the most useless parent at the moment. I try reasoning, then ignoring but she pushes and pushes until I start shouting. She can be so lovely and then so bloody difficult in the blink of an eye. This plan is counteracting the rapid ageing that she is causing me to endure!

Anyway, have munched my way through the morning. I will have a healthy tea and an early night.

Marina - good to see you back.

yoyo · 15/03/2007 12:51

Batters - 21st would probably be better for me but would have to check that DH doesn't have anything on. Lunch would be good.

winnie · 15/03/2007 13:00

I have walked for 40 minutes this morning which was good (between meetings to let off steam )

The day so far is going well. Didn't have breakfast as I had a presentation to give which I was very nervous about and I can't eat when I am that nervous. Have had hummous and roasted veg wrap so far.

I am about to go get some more water as I need to keep reminding myself to drink water.

Welcome back Marina

tortoiseSHELL · 15/03/2007 13:10

Lunch would be good for me, as would need to get back to sunny Bristol! Will check whether dh has anything on either of those dates.

Marina · 15/03/2007 13:12

Have just enjoyed small pack of sushi, organic fruit juice thingy and packet of mango, plus a swift canter round the mean streets of EC2
Am getting over monster cold, cystitis AND being drenched in snot by dd and her monster cold on a nightly basis so feel like old crock at the mo [pathetic sympathy-seeking emoticon]

tortoiseSHELL · 15/03/2007 13:14

I failed so spectacularly last night at getting to bed early - we had someone to dinner and they stayed until....2.30am. Which was actually really nice - reminded me of being a student! But we got to bed at about 3.30 having cleared up, so I've got a couple of matchsticks holding my eyelids up. Good on the food front though, we had homemade lasagne and salad, and then an apricot tart. Although I did have a glass of wine. So far today, was too late up for breakfast - sleep just took priority, and then had to throw ds1 out of the door for school, before the playgroup run. Lunch - tomato and basil soup, left over salad from last night, melon. Tea tonight, will be left overs from last night, so lasagne again, but will do some steamed veg to go with it.

Lizzer I laughed about your cake shop ordeal (sorry!)!

Would be great to meet some of you - I'm really looking forward to it, although I ought to warn you, we're very country bumpkin ish in Bristol, I always feel hopeless unstylish when I go to London, so if you want to pretend you don't know me that's ok!

tortoiseSHELL · 15/03/2007 13:15

[not pathetic sympathy sending emoticon on its way]

No, I have had the sodding thing twice - the only two I've had all winter, too
Thanks, all, she says faintly

WideWebWitch · 15/03/2007 19:46

Oh no Marina re cold, but welcome back
well done everyone, haven't got long but wanted to check in

Are we talking April those dates? I can do either I expect although would prefer a Saturday

Baaaaad baaaaad day:

Granola (fine)
apple (fine)
hummus, carrot sticks
ham and mustard sandwich, crap, white bread too
vegetable crisps, crap
Loadsa Minstrels at a meeting
biscuits at a meeting adn I don't even LIKE biscuits, it was a boredom/stress combo I think
fishfingers
peas
and now have a glass of wine and will have another later, as I've finished work for the week now. Ds and I are about to cuddle up with Primeval on the sofa

No walking for the first time in ages, worked through most of my lunch. Oh well, will try to be better tomorrow.

OP posts:
tortoiseSHELL · 15/03/2007 20:05

www, I think those both are Saturdays, at least if they're April they are.

Marina - you have to come if I trek all the way over !!!Braving First Great Western and the like...

puddle · 15/03/2007 20:17

I have totally lost it.

In my defence I have pmt, have had a bad couple of days with my newly 7 year old ds who is being a mardy bum, work is really really awful atm and have a dp who is stressed to the eyeballs and not sleeping (and keeping me awake too.

So anyway have had loads of v healthy food today but also added in a slab of lemon cake and am now drinking red wine. It's not a good way to handle stress

Welcome back Marina and Winnie I missed your news but how wonderful
