Thanks to the persuasive power of MN, I have today ordered myself a pair of red SW sandals.

That is all!

I think there's room in our lives for Birkies and Saltwaters. There's certainly room in my life for both, or at least there will be when I decide if I'm buying navy or red originals.

I have a gold pair that I love and a black pair that I should really get rid of as I've only worn them once on the school run but won't wear again, I just don't have a need for black sandals.

The gold go with pretty much everything.

OneFlewOverTheMumsNest · 15/04/2017 20:24

Count I couldn't make that decision so I got both. And the tan! I only got them last year but have worn them all loads. I now have a hankering for the rose gold but fear that may be a pair too many.

Bobbins43 · 15/04/2017 20:30

Very tempted by a pair but have wide Size 9 feet. Worth a go?

Pixie2015 · 15/04/2017 20:34

3 pairs and I love them soooo much worth every penny - most comfortable shoes ever and perfect to pack

DavetheCat2001 · 15/04/2017 22:01

My birkenstocks are up for sale on ebay. Try as I might I just do not find them comfortable.

I bought some from Toast last year and want to order a pair from the SW site. Is the size on the sole the size you order from SW?

HeyRoly · 16/04/2017 08:07

I love an orthopaedic looking sandal. In fact I bought a pair of actual orthopaedic sandals from a German brand a few years ago. Apparently they were all the rage amongst Brooklyn hipsters and I thought I was ahead of the curve. They never did take off in the UK like Birkenstocks and Saltwaters though Grin

What's the deal with Saltwater sizing? That's the only thing putting me off. I'm a 4.5 and usually size up, but I get Birkenstocks in a 37.

Perfumista · 16/04/2017 08:37

I really want the shiny Candy Red Saltwaters, but love the look of the golds and how they go with everything. I'm just going to have to buy both, aren't I? HeyRoly- I am a 7 in birkies, but an 8 in Saltwaters. When I tried the 7 in the Saltwaters, my heels were just over the edge of the sandal.

DavetheCat2001 · 18/04/2017 17:34

ok here they are.

They feel really comfy, but my feet are stupidly narrow..do they look too big and 'flappy'?

@Severedpixiebits I'm usually a U.K. Size 5 so according to the Saltwater website I should be their 6 but I've gone for their 5, if that makes sense. I have worn them a few times now and I feel like they just fit but I was worried about keeping the 6 in case they stretched and became to loose and went flippery on me.
Dave - I love the red! My toes stop just over the stitching and, as above, I feel like they just fit. I think yours is how they are supposed to be.

DavetheCat2001 · 18/04/2017 21:29

Ah ok, thanks Click. What colour are yours?

I'm sure I read on here somewhere that if you wartime in water they mould to your feet or something?

I've been wearing them about this evening and am going to keep them.

wear them, not wartime!

Thanks Click. I'm a kind of 4 and 3/4 normal size so I think a Saltwater 5 is my best bet too. Smile

Clickncollect · 18/04/2017 22:09

I went for the navy/silver mixed but I am
planning on getting the red very soon!
You're welcome ladies - enjoy your lovely sandals
