Thanks to the persuasive power of MN, I have today ordered myself a pair of red SW sandals.

That is all!

I have a few and I wore them a lot but after doing city walking for a few days I've had to stop wearing them due to the soles - they made my feet feel bruised actually.

Non-tarmac wearing they're fine

Clickncollect · 14/04/2017 10:14

My navy/silver pair arrived a few days ago and I absolutely love them! Walked my baby in his buggy around the country park for an hour in them and found them to be super comfortable.
I had ordered two sizes and it took me hours to decide which size to keep. The 5 fit me but so did the 6 although obviously a bit more space in the 6. In the end I kept the 5 as the instructions say not to oversize and I think I've made the right decision!
Currently coveting the lovely red ones at the moment so might pull the trigger when I've had a bit of wear out of the current pair.

DavetheCat2001 · 14/04/2017 10:55

I ordered my regular size (6) so hoping they fit ok. Nice to hear they are comfy straight away. No breaking in required.

I didn't realise how their sizes worked as I tried a display one on which said 6 on the bottom but was actually a size 5.

JoanRamone · 14/04/2017 11:03

I love the front of these but have cankles and ankle straps are an absolute no. I'm finding it impossible to get nice vintage looking leather sandals without an ankle strap.

ZaziesPaws · 14/04/2017 11:08

They're so ugly, I just couldn't.

They're like toddler shoes.

Bluntness100 · 14/04/2017 11:09

I got the sliders which don't have an ankle strap and I love them,...

Judydreamsofhorses · 14/04/2017 11:40

I got red ones last summer but barely wore them because the weather was so crap. Hopefully they will get more outings this year...!

krisskross · 14/04/2017 11:48

DO NOT put in washing machine as i did....website says you can , ruined them and I got a refund.

RicketyCricket · 14/04/2017 12:01

I couldn't be without my Saltwaters in Spring/Summer now. Don't know what I did before them!

I wear a lot of vintage-y dresses like these and Saltwaters look fantastic with them. They also look great with rolled up jeans and a bright pedicure. Ditto denim shorts/t-shirt and a retro headscarf.

If you have a slightly retro look then they're perfect.

I do have a quirkyish vibe so think these are right up my street Grin

Thanks for the washing machine warning. Good they replaced them for you though.

Has anyone bought a pair for their toddler/little one?

Wondering if they may be good for my nearly 4 yo.

OneFlewOverTheMumsNest · 14/04/2017 22:23

I'd say it depends on the shape of her feet. I have 3 pairs and love them so bought some last year for then 4yo dd1. They were floral and gorgeous but had to go back as she has a very high instep and found them very uncomfortable.

SeveredPixieBits · 14/04/2017 22:29

@clickncollect I am currently dithering between a 5 and a 6. What size are you normally?

CountFosco · 15/04/2017 00:33

Damn you Dave, now I want a pair or maybe two (and I'm sure my 4 year old would love a pair of red ones). I'm trying to not spend money on shoes because I really need a new swimsuit. Grrr.

DavetheCat2001 · 15/04/2017 08:55

Ahh but from what I've read on here you'll get loads of wear out of them Halo

I think they look babyish. Fine for toddlers but i think they look daft on grown adults. Birkies all the way for me

FinallyHere · 15/04/2017 09:03

I ordered some after reading about them here sucker for a rose gold sandal Length and width fine, they just don't have enough space over the top of the foot for me. Gutted.

BusterGonad · 15/04/2017 09:06

My Mothercare sandals circa 1980s.

I don't get the love for them either. They're ugly to me too, not quirky. But I'm sure people wouldn't like some of the things I wear. I also don't understand the love for Hush. Starting to think I'm not a mumsnetter!

SesameSparkle · 15/04/2017 13:09

Buster I had ones just like that too! Grin

BusterGonad · 15/04/2017 13:21

Sesame they are nice for children under 7 years old! Grin

SesameSparkle · 15/04/2017 13:40

Which means they should go really well with my dungarees...... Grin

BusterGonad · 15/04/2017 14:31

Not for me Sesame I'm afraid, I'm more of a ankle boot or shoe person, but you enjoy them! Grin

MumBod · 15/04/2017 15:22

Oh god, you bastards, I want some now.

I can't justify them, can I?

I've been a Birkie girl for years. But they're just looking a bit...meh...this year.

Now I want Saltwater toddler sandals.

Gah.
