Does wearing LONSDALE make you common?

So... why is it that a brand of leisure wear not dissimilar to many others seems mainly to be worn by extremely fat, shuffling women sporting a 'Croydon facelift' with a fag hanging out of the side of their mouths?

Questions:

1 Are there any sophisticated types who would be seen in public wearing Lonsdale?

2 Do the 'common' looking ones start out that way, or do they metamorphose once they don the leisure wear?

Just asking...

I feel like i should wear stuff more my 'age' but i don't like anything in the shops these days and i don't have any spare cash to go clothes shopping so i wear what i've got. We don't go out much anymore to pubs/clubs. so don't need to worry about good clothes.
I do not know what i should be wearing for my age of 28.
Getting dressed to pop to town to get some shopping this morning i caught myself thinking 'oh no i shouldn't wear that, i'd look like a commonner'.

paulaplumpbottom · 08/03/2007 16:04

yes

ImaWurzel · 08/03/2007 16:05

Huh?

TeeCee · 08/03/2007 16:09

The only logo I sport is Adidas

like this but i have black with Gold

ImaWurzel · 08/03/2007 16:11

Nice. Like that. Is that wrong?? I have a couple of zip jackets with adidas on them, a B.A.R Honda one my DH got me to support Jenson, and my blue lonsdale jacket/fleece MIL got me.
Too much?

SecondhandRose · 08/03/2007 16:21

Lonsdale is sold in Sportssoccer or is it SoccerSports anyway the store that always has 70% off. Very cheap Lonsdale in there, ideal for pre-teen growing boys who lose everything.

TeeCee · 08/03/2007 16:21

Not a Lonsdale fan myself but Adidas is COOl and not naff.
I see too many teenagers with lonsdale on and couldn't do it myself now. I like my Adidas shell toes my jeans and my addias hoodie for comfy look weekend clobber.

fortyplus · 09/03/2007 09:47

ImaWurzel - maybe I should start wearing it if it makes you look 10 years younger! But the thought of a 45 year old covered in sports logos send a bit of a shudder down my spine!

Mercy - this whole thread is intended to have tongue firmly in cheek - hence the {wink] and in my original post.

Not having much money doesn't make people 'common' anyhow - most of us have been there at some time or another.

Where's your sense of humour?

OP posts:
Mercy · 09/03/2007 10:03

I just don't find these types of thread particularly amusing, that's all.

Why join in then?

Simply because sometimes these threads turn into what I can only describe as having a rather unpleasant snigger at other peoples lives - see any number of threads re chavs etc - and so sometimes I join in with my own pov, redress the balance, whatever.

expatinscotland · 09/03/2007 14:22

What is Lonsdale?
