Ok, in my ongoing quest for a funky summer shirt/blouse type affair, I would like your opinions on this one:

www.rixo.co.uk/product/amber/

In case anyone read my last thread about the Tabitha Webb rainbow shirt, I did order that one, but wondering if I like this one better, so thinking of ordering it as well, and sending one back. This is the TW one:
tabithawebb.co.uk/shop/black-pansy-pussybow-rainbow-silk-shirt/

What say you MNetters as both very different?

I really like both of them. Personally think I prefer the green one but I'd try them both.

seefeld · 23/03/2017 19:45

The rainbow one is so much nicer! I love it. But I guess you need to try both on and decide from there.

CantChoose · 23/03/2017 21:46

wilting has hit the nail on the head - the green one is a bit per una :/

MOISTOWLETT · 23/03/2017 21:51

I could imagine Noel Fielding wearing those! The rainbow one is lovely though! I couldn't afford it even if I wanted to though! Confused

DavetheCat2001 · 23/03/2017 21:59

hmm..so the green one is not winning many fans! I thought it would be more popular than the rainbow one.

OP posts:
Munchkin1412 · 23/03/2017 22:29

I like the green one! But I'd pay £40 max for it, that price is crazy. I don't think I like the rainbow one, it just doesn't look like much. Would be ok wth jeans and boots but the green one is more striking.

Munchkin1412 · 23/03/2017 22:30

And they can't spell ruffle!

DavetheCat2001 · 27/03/2017 14:24

eww...the green one just turned up, and it is going straight back!

I was a bit disappointed as had high hopes, but I guess it means I don't feel guilty at ordering 2 expensive tops in one week!

Will report back when the rainbow one lands.

I love both of them. I don't think the prices are ridiculous, a pretty simple silk blouse costs about £100 from quite a few places so it's not surprising something a bit more upmarket costs more. I'm almost wanting the rainbow shirt to be a bit rubbish to see what else you find, I'm half looking for a silk blouse and have sent two back to Boden for being too boring and am umming and ahhing about one from & Other Stories that reminds me of the kind of (viscose) shirts DH wore in the early 90s. Can't decide if that's good or bad!

Tweedledee3Tweedledum · 27/03/2017 18:42

I like the green one. The rainbow is a definite no from me.

Joinourclub · 27/03/2017 18:46

The green one is baaaaad. Not funky at all. I like the rainbow one but that's a lot of money to spend.

lalaloopyhead · 27/03/2017 18:51

The green one is waaaaaaaay to frilly and I don't generally mind a frill or two. I prefer the rainbow one, it is very bold and fun but too be honest I wouldn't pay that much for either of them.

DavetheCat2001 · 27/03/2017 19:30

The frilly collar bit on the green blouse stood up in a very weird way. I'm not sure if perhaps as it was a production sample, it wasn't finished as properly as an actual labelled item, but either way not worth the £££ in my opinion.

Shame as I liked the colour/pattern.

Count I actually spotted another blouse I liked in bright orange, but it was sold out online. I'll see if I can find it anyway to show you.

Hoping I like the rainbow one now as had visions of wearing my nice new silk blouse for my birthday lunch on April 10th!

Rainbow one looks cheap to me (but better than green). I like the yellow egret one on the same site though.

DavetheCat2001 · 04/04/2017 16:00

Just an update (in case anyone is remotely still interested Grin )

I have had a right palaver with getting the sodding rainbow blouse!

Obviously the eye watering prices do not reflect the non-existent customer service at TW! Really poor.

Originally there was a 2 week wait for the blouse..fine, but trying to get any further info from them, despite them having taken £200 odd quid of my money instantly, was like pulling teeth.

Complained, and they finally offered my an additional 10% discount, so in total have saved 20% off the original price, still expensive but not quite as horrendous, and they are couriering it to me today.

It should be here in an hour or so. Typically I have a Dr's appointment just round the time the delivery is due, but hopefully they will leave the package with my neighbour so I should FINALLY get to see if this blouse is amazing or the abomination some seem to think!

will report back later (hopefully). Hoping it's a thumbs up as the thought of having to return it after over 2 weeks of waiting is a bit Hmm

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 04/04/2017 16:16

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the rainbow print when it arrives!

DavetheCat2001 · 04/04/2017 16:29

Typically I am sitting waiting in the drs surgery and have just got a text that it has been delivered and left in a 'safe place'. Hope its still ruddy there when I get home! Will update later, maybe with pic if I am feeling brave! X

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 04/04/2017 16:34

"Safe place", usually means next door neighbours bin.
Please update, I was a lover of the rainbow shirt.
Not liking the new one so much, the flouncy sleeves look fine in pictures, but just don't work irl as they flounce all over the place in an annoying/stupid/unflattering manner.

DavetheCat2001 · 04/04/2017 17:02

FFS it wasn't even the shirt. It was something else.

I am seriously unimpressed with this shower of shit company. Sent an email and tried to ring but goes straight to vm.

Really hope I haven't been scammed...Sad

I like it on you, both tucked in and tucked out. It's nice but .... it doesn't look like a £200 shirt. I think the cost per wear would work out pretty cool crap.

Do you like it OP? If you're dithering send it back. For £200 it needs to be instant love.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 04/04/2017 21:21

Ignore the random 'cool' in there! CPW crap not cool-crap Grin

cathyandclare · 04/04/2017 21:24

I love it!

DavetheCat2001 · 04/04/2017 21:24

Thanks Bounce. I think because it's been such a ballache to get, and you're right it is a lot of ££, I'm a bit deflated.

I think I'm going to try it on again in the morning with fresh eyes, with a few different pairs of jeans, and see how I feel about it.

It's ended up costing me £179, but thats still a lot.
