Thoughts?

This is good but insufficiently waterproof and too much £££ for not enough waterproof

This is bad bad bad

"Fun" is fine.

oh its for camping and getting wet in...but I don't want to be utterly dispirited by the whole thing, which I will be if I have to wear teal and burgundy with a mint trim, all together.

Tamum, I like that Pedlars one.
And it's only 2.5 BodenCoatUnits so is actually not bad value.

The French understand raincoats. Come for the weekend and I will take you raincoat shopping....

pesme · 07/03/2007 08:53

just bite the bullet and buy an ugly navy waterproof. if you are walking up hill all the laws of style are inverted and people sneer if you look remotely normal. it should be all tight shiny trews and jackets with water proof 'technology'.

okeydokeygirl · 08/03/2007 13:43

Mrs Badger - isn't the Pedlars coat 195.00? or was i looking at the wrong one?

MrsBadger · 08/03/2007 17:04

yep
but the fugly yellow Boden one is £75, so on the scale of expensive raincoats it's not that bad.

(and before you ask, I wear an ancient cast-off Land's End one inherited from my mum, or an even more ancient Barbour that my dad had at school, so I would never ever spend even £75 on a mac, let alone £195)

okeydokeygirl · 11/03/2007 20:27

Exactly, 75.00 is far too much for a mac although i would spend almost that if i found the perfect one and it was worth it. But even the expensive ones are not that nice and/or not properly waterproof so not worth the money. if i am going to spend over 50.00 i at least want to keep dry! I will continue with my quest. Although you would think that the UK of all places would be able to provide a choice of decent affordable macs - after all, it does rain rather a lot.

Well,I have just taken delivery of this one (using that 15% discount code that someone on here mentioned) (so it 'only' cost £63) and it is nice. A bit tight round the top - was wondering whether I should have gone a size bigger than usual - but still nice. There's free returns on it as well, so I might prance around the bedroom in it a bit longer and then decide...

brimfull · 13/03/2007 21:17

which one sid? link?

Tamum · 13/03/2007 21:21

Oh, I missed this- MrsB, I love you

Sid · 14/03/2007 14:40

Sorry, it's the rainyday jacket WE166 in Leaf - Doing a link is defeating me...

Fimbo · 14/03/2007 14:43

H & M have a hooded jacket a la Boden with little umbrellas over it in navy. Its £19.99 would probably be shower proof don't know how it would cope in a torrential downpour though.
