Hi,
Anyone see anything fab in the shops? I need something super dressy and a-line!

Thank you !!!

Check out TKMaxx. There were some absolutely gorgeous holy communion appropriate cream and white dresses there the other day for £20.

Can you link to something you like?

This Ted Baker dress is pretty.

Or something like this shift dress?

polyhymnia · 22/03/2017 20:34

Surely the mothers don't have to wear cream or white, do they?

libertydoddle · 22/03/2017 20:42

Ok. I totally misread the title and thought you were looking for a dress for your DD Grin

MrsLettuce · 22/03/2017 20:48

What size do you need? Budget? Colour?

April19 · 23/03/2017 21:57

Thanks all. I've been looking at Coast and Ted Baker but feel that they will be popular for outfits and I don't want to end up with the same outfit as someone else !!! I'm 5 ft 4. Size 10-12, pear. Age 39. I tend to wear midi full skirts and a-line style, skater etc. Thanks. Oh, Sema..I liked the shift dress but not sure about the colour. Will have another look at it!

I like this.

This is pretty but maybe not dressy enough?

Semaphorically · 24/03/2017 06:40

Oops the second one is sold out in your size.

Iamastonished · 24/03/2017 06:57

When DD had her first communion, and when she got confirmed I don't recall any of the parents feeling that they had to buy a fabulous new outfit for the services. No-one paid any attention to the parents.

This was C of E BTW.

WipsGlitter · 24/03/2017 07:04

If it's a catholic service in Ireland or NI it will be very dressy!!

VintagePerfumista · 24/03/2017 07:06

I don't do dresses, but for dd's FHC I wore a Phase Eight finely knitted navy longline tunic. I felt a million dollars, and wear it now for every other FHC/wedding/christening etc.

I like this which if work with turquoise statement jewellery and a big blow dry would be perfect

A1Sharon · 24/03/2017 14:45

Golly, yes agree, very dressy in Ireland!
Where did I see a lovely skirt the other day.....
