Has anyone had this? I've always had foil highlights but am considering this for a more natural look. I'd you've had it done have you been pleased with the results?

I'm booked for balayage next Tuesday at a salon. I've been having a friend highlight my hair for the past 4 years or so but it's time for a change. I'm really hoping it's going to wow me considering it's going to cost a lot so for that reason I'm quite nervous about it.

PonderLand · 23/03/2017 16:22

I'm sure it will look lovely Cherry. Can I ask, are you going to the same hairdressers or are you going to a more expensive one? I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to risk it at the local village one but I'm not a regular at any particular salon and price doesn't always mean quality!

I'm going back to a salon I used to use when I was working and child free Ponder! It's not a city salon but I follow them on Facebook and have seen their work on there but I'm def still worried it's going to be worth the money (they've quoted around £140 with cut and blow too) its prob not the most expensive but certainly a lot considering my friend has been doing my hair for peanuts or favours for the last few years. Ideally I'd like to know someone who has had a fantastic 'do' and go by that.

If you are on any Facebook groups you could put out a post asking if anyone has had a really good balayage local to you?

RumAppleGinger · 23/03/2017 18:50

Love mine. I hadn't dyed my hair since I was in my early 20's when I would crudely chuck bleach on it and dye it a bright colour. Had consider lightening for years but the though and price of the up keep was just too much, it's naturally a very dark brown. With this I get the dye twice a year and just have a toner put on it in between which can totally change the look of it.

I went to my hairdresser yesterday with this picture therighthairstyles.com/blonde-balayage/14/ and came out with it pretty much exact.

I'll try to take a picture of my hair and post...

Bejazzled · 23/03/2017 20:14

Not blonde but this is mine from 4 weeks ago.

You see Rum, your hair is lovely but I'd say my highlights don't look a lot different to that and when I look at that picture GetA I think it looks lovely but on me will it just look like I haven't had my roots done for ages. I'm also worried I'm going to feel dull as usually just have very Ash blonde high lights. Gah, I don't know, it's such a bloody big outlay to be disappointed 😬

Bodicea · 23/03/2017 21:07

Has anyone got any pics of balayge on straight hAir. My hair is poker straight and my hairdresser said balage is always styled curly to hide that fact it doesn't work well on straight hair, for reasons I can't remember now. But I remember she put me off.
