Awww - looks like my DM's old cat!

MM, sorry to hear that - hope the horsepills kick in quickly.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/03/2017 15:33

They don't know what is wrong with my mother. She is on morphine and 101 monitors. Has been in since Friday morning and no-one told me or seems very sure why I wasn't told. Apparently her neighbour was supposed to call me, but didn't.

I feel like I am in an episode of Little Britain. She greeted her consultant (Asian) with "I hope I can understand what you say" and whenever the nurse speaks to her, turns to me and says "What did you say?" And has just asked another doctor if he is a refugee or illegal immigrant. FFS.

motherinferior · 19/03/2017 16:02

How did you find out at all?

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/03/2017 16:17

The hospital rang my mobile this morning to say that she was"very poorly" and was being moved to ICU. I said I wasn't even aware that she was in hospital and she said that the neighbour was supposed to let me know. Well I was in Friday night, all day yesterday and no calls on home phone or mobile. So who knows what is going on. Will stay here for a few days, at least until she is out of ICU.

motherinferior · 19/03/2017 17:10

If you need emergency supplies I'm sure we can arrange!

wordassociationfootball · 19/03/2017 17:55

Jeepers Mrs S. Crazy that neighbour didn't get in touch.Hope you aren't too discombobulated.

My notes from maternal bedside: yesterday frst time ever mum didn't know who I was. Today super smiley hand holding.

wordassociationfootball · 19/03/2017 18:17

Crem Saga excellent. Is she from Mieowmo CID

Herbs I roared with laughter so hard about the angry van driver arguing with someone in a lay by, that I spat on my own cheek.

CointreauVersial · 19/03/2017 18:26

WAF, MrsS, hope the ailing DM sitches resolve soon. Flowers

Cute kitty, Crem. Saga is a great name (with crepey overtones!).

Finally I have found time to catch up with the thread - I haven't been very good at it recently. We're just back from a tour of a local gin distillery, which was part of my birthday present from DH. Really fascinating, and seriously inebriating; DH doesn't like gin so passed all his tasting samples to me (and there were a LOT of samples). I had to be carried back to the car. GrinGin

Cremolafoam · 19/03/2017 19:50

Oh fgs Mrs S, what a nob of a neighbour. Thank goodness the hospital got you , in the uk, on a Sunday and not in forrin on a work day. Still bit of a ruddy shock. FlowersGinGinGinGin (stock up CV stylee) Wink I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Dh did a giant burp and Kitty has disappeared under a chest of drawers in terror,Angry@ dh
Lol 😂 @ Meowlmo. I will have to get her some leather trews and a Porsche.Hmm

I have an appointment with the ophthalmic Surgeon mañana. Hopefully he will add me to his cataract removal list.

bigTillyMint · 19/03/2017 19:51

CV Grin That's the way to do it! Gin

Went to see neighbour tonight. Apparently he rang my home number on Friday morning and left a message. Our home answerphone doesn't work. He doesn't know why the hospital didn't call me, didn't tell them he had tried to get in touch - he called to let me know that she was going in the ambulance and that the hospital would call me if they admitted her, which is what the paramedics told him.Confused

IDismyname · 19/03/2017 22:40

So sorry MrsS on your DMs hospital stay. Have they figured out the problem, yet? Can we muster supplies for you?

(Can you get DnS in a can yet?)

How is Shelia? Hopefully still smiling and hand holding...

It's been a quieter day chez Cloud. No histrionics from DH, although yesterday wasn't great. He launched onto DS who was left looking at me with the Gallic shrug as if to say WTF?
It's him, not you, sweetie....

Reasons to be cheerful:

Beachy and I are off for a Walkies tomorrow.

Been recommended super savvy lawyer. Wonderful London friend who is so blinking loyal to me. I luffs her lots. She reckons that DH has so many City contacts, that if I was going to appoint someone, I ought not to use a nice friendly lady working out of Staines. She's probably got a point.

I may have some work via my LinkedIn profile. Old friend texted me tonight asking if I'd give her some help with a redesign of part of her house. She'd forgotten I was an interior designer.
I'm very rusty... Should I charge her??

motherinferior · 20/03/2017 06:53

Yes. A good whack.

Off to try first Ladyjog in a week. Don't want to. Must.

Montypulciano · 20/03/2017 06:59

Have a lovely time with Beachy, Cloud. And yes, do charge for the design, even if only a mate's rates price.

Thinking of you and Sheila, Waf. You must Be shattered. This time last year, my dad was dying and I remember being bone tired, even though I wasn't doing anything except wait.

Well done on the drive, MI. Back in the saddle and all that.

MrsS Flowers. Sending love.

Hope Saga enjoyed her first night in her new gaff.

So much to do again today. Dd2 has a ballet exam which will take a good chunk out. I forgot to do a Tesco shop so need to do that online. Gahhhh. I need more hours in the day.

Yes. A good whack. - Thanks MI - and all the others... :)

MrsWobble3 · 20/03/2017 08:07

And Cloud, have the money conversation right at the start. It won't get any less awkward and once it's out of the way it's much easier as it's then a 'normal' commercial arrangement. It also makes it obvious before any time is spent or friendships damaged if it's not going to work.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/03/2017 08:17

On my way to the hospital now, via M&S to get new pants for me.

IDismyname · 20/03/2017 08:17

Thanks, Mrs W - good point- I'd forgotten quite how many of you are self employed!

motherinferior · 20/03/2017 08:33

I remember that utter exhaustion Sad. Do take care, WAF.

MrsS, hope today is bearable.

Cremolafoam · 20/03/2017 10:21

Waf, Mrs S , BTM and all others under the cosh this week, take care, You are all on my mind.
Monty, hope you can find some time for yourself this week.
Cloud, although being around dh sounds trying , you sound a bit lighter when talking about leaving. I'm glad you have a nice friend who can give advice. And yes, speak up at the beginning, Re work. I once catered a whole wedding for a very good friend, who some how had got the impression that it was my 'wedding present' to him. Hmm It was ok in the end, I did it for cost, but be very careful from the start.Grin

Lovely puss has had a confidence building night , getting happier to explore the living room in ever increasing circles. She is a timid wee thing, but very affectionate if you can coax her into being close.

Yay 😊

For your amusement I saw this at the craft fair on Saturday.

addle · 20/03/2017 11:06

Crepey kittens - all lovely! Congrats, Crem, and wonderful name.
Our rather older cat has started shitting near the front door again so I think must be under stress from the local badasses

Cloud ... I agree with all the sage freelance advice here

Monty - your lovely girl looks just like you!

Beachy and BTM - joining you on bench with poorly DS. Nothing like as bad as what you're going through but not fun for him. He has sought help himself though which is good

WAF - thinking of you as I strive to facercise ... may have to photocopy the exercise pages and get rid of the rest as the example faces are so off putting

Mrs S - hope today as ok as can be
