Perhaps I should have said "I can be there earlier, if I can remember where it is, who I am meeting and what for"?

IDismyname · 10/03/2017 20:01

Tall Blond Handsome Bartender available wearing jeans and crisp white shirt somehow YET AGAIN ironed by his mother... Can mix DnS and any other cocktail you may require...

He's on £8.00 an hour (plus tips) but happy to work overtime....

Also available for Forrin' Assignments, Mrs S Wink

IDismyname · 10/03/2017 20:01

Oops - I think I've just sold my son Shock

bigTillyMint · 10/03/2017 20:11

I'd love to come for DnS's but I don't think I can - DS is pretty unwell again. I would love to just run away from it all.

bigTillyMint · 10/03/2017 20:13

I have resorted to Monty Don and his two gorgeous doggies - one of the most relaxing programmes on even though I know nothing about gardening Smile

Collymollypuff · 10/03/2017 20:19

Hugs re ds, BTM. Give yourself massive credit for not running away from it all.

Those dogs are lovely, aren' t they? One is called Nigel. Grin

I can't make tomorrow evening, I'm afraid, but delighted to see BD on here again. Smile

Montypulciano · 10/03/2017 20:32

It's cougar town in crepesville with news of cloud's Ds who conjures cocktails

Mrs S, sometimes the only clue I get that I have taught seminars on random topics is that I have a file about them in my handwriting. A combination of very busy and not especially engaged does it for me. Am sure nothing more sinister too in your case.

Monty Don is a delight and the dogs are gorgeous.

Huge hugs to you, BTM. Sorry things are tough again. Can I do a drive by tomorrow and drop off a care package? Flowers

BD, good to hear from you.

I love this thread.

bigTillyMint · 10/03/2017 20:40

Aww thanks Monty, that's v kind of you but not necesary - I will survive I hope with lots of moaning. I have salted caramel baileys, which helps Smile

MrsWobble3 · 10/03/2017 20:42

Oh BTM - I'm so sorry - I had hoped that surviving the mocks might mark a turning point.

hattymattie · 10/03/2017 20:50

Damn have had to come back from pub quiz as electricity went off randomly leaving DS alone in the dark. I got back to find he'd strung up battery run fairy lights and was burning my Jo Malone candle.

hattymattie · 10/03/2017 20:58

BTM - hugs from me as well. So grumpy about missed pub quiz, only posted about myself. I am actually watching CruftsHmm

motherinferior · 10/03/2017 22:31

I wrote at least one feature when my mother was dying in the room next door of which I have NO MEMORY AT ALL.

Have been out for delightful dinner and wine with lovely female friends. Now waiting aaaages for train home.

MrsWobble3 · 10/03/2017 22:33

MI - only one word - uber

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/03/2017 22:34

BTM, so sorry your DS is unwell again. Sending you all good vibes.

Slightly reassured that it is not Alzheimer's.

motherinferior · 10/03/2017 22:52

Slowly chugging home quite happily!

IDismyname · 10/03/2017 22:58

BTM Hope you are now snoozing on the sofa, stuffed full of nice chocs. So sorry to hear that DS is not good again. I wondered, too, if surviving the mocks proved something of a turning point for him...

DS gave me the recipe for a D n S as being ginger beer, dark rum and mint. I think there was a bit of muddling somewhere... Not sure of quantities. I'm sure one of you can advise if incorrect.

They sell a lot of Expresso Martinis, apparently. The recipe for that sounds lush.

Meanwhile I've been to see friend out of hospital post brain surgery. She's been deluged with lasagnes and bags of salad by well meaning people. She fell upon my chickeny supper with delight. And then had to retire back to bed after the excitement.

Morning! Sorry to hear that DS isn't good again, BTM. I hope you managed to get some time to yourself last night and are feeling a bit more positive this morning.

Busy day today, getting ready for our trip to the Midlands tomorrow. DSis and her DH are joining us on Monday and staying until Thursday afternoon, and then we're meeting my DBiL and his DW for lunch on Friday.

Nice to se you, BD; I hope you're coping ok? And I hope you get to a MU later today that will cheer you up.

MrsS, I am not on FB, any chance of PMing me where your new job is, and I will start looking to see if there are flights from Newcastle Grin - after all if DH can go on a cycling holiday to Majorca without me, I don't see why I can't have a little trip!

NUFC69 · 11/03/2017 09:31

Cloud, sorry I got diverted in the middle of my post: what a lovely friend you are - I am so glad that she is recovering.

bigTillyMint · 11/03/2017 10:27

Thanks crepeys - I am tying hard not to get dragged down by it all. So enjoying having the house to myself this morning, am meeting DD for lunch and DH and I are going out with friends who just messaged tonight - YOLO!

Cloud, how lovely re your friend. And DS's recipe sounds spot-onSmile

Hatty Grin at your DS's romantic lighting situation!

magimedi · 11/03/2017 10:29

Sorry to hear about DS, BTM.

Was it GGG who is a fan of Paula Rego? There is a long article about her in the Times Review today & news of a documentary by her son which is being screened on March 25th.

Spent most of yesterday in the garden - feel so good for a day outside. Was hoping to do the same again today but it's really murky & 'orrible atm.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/03/2017 10:37

Yes Magi, I am the Rego fan! Refuse to buy the Times but will look out for the documentary. Thanks.

Hoping I might make it for a quick d n s but will depend on how long it takes me to get other stuff done - can I join you if I can?

magimedi · 11/03/2017 10:45

If you want to PM me your address I'll cut out the article & post it to you.

The Times is the only paper that DH & I can agree on & I do like the crossword.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/03/2017 11:02

That's v kind MM. have pmed you. X

Grr - turns out all the street had an electricity cut last night. DS thought because the street lights were working this was not the case. He just had to sit tight and not send me hysterical texts about how he was going to die alone in the dark .

Anyway, Cloud - great news that your friend is making a good recovery and that she has a freezer full of lasagnes to keep her going.

Lovely day here the sun actually feels warm. Have put washing outside for the first time this year.
