Can people with brown eyes look good with blonde hair or highlights

I reckon. Unusual, innit. I've got brown hair and blue eyes and people comment that it's an unusual combination.

Generally blonde hair is weird with brown eyes. Think Ellie Goulding who is a natural brunette. She always looks grubby.

My brown eyed friend is desperate for any colour other than her natural brown hair. She's tried them all and nothing except brown suits her. She looked particularly dreadful with blonde highlights.

It can only be a complexion issue, she's a beautiful woman with amazing eyes and great hair, but her olive skin which is prone to redness means that nothing except brown looks right.

My sil is brown eyed with dyed blonde hair and looks totally gorgeous.

I have brown eyes and blond hair naturally. I think I look adequate. My eyes aren't really dark though and my hair is a golden blonde rather than white or platinum. I'm pale skinned with pink undertones. My eyebrows are quite a bit darker than my hair too. I look terrible with dark hair. I'd never really thought it was particularly unusual before reading this thread. Maybe I look grubby!

I don't think blonde hair with brown eyes is 'weird' at all if your hair is naturally blonde/ blondish, like mine. Whether it works to colour/ bleach brown hair blonde if you have brown eyes is another question and, I'd guess, all depends on your skin tone.

My dd1 is naturally blonde with very dark brown eyes, dark eyebrows and olive skin. It looks amazing on her, very striking.

She gets none of it from me. I'm blue eyed, pasty and mousey

DD is naturally light blonde with pale skin and brown eyes. Her main issue has been getting her eyebrows a colour she is happy with because they are naturally light and she wants more definition.

I have dark hair and eyes. Wore a platinum wig to a party recently and looked AMAZING. Would do it in a flash but can't afford the upkeep. Go for it and send pics and tell me how it works out for you (as am tempted.)

I'm no expert as I have ginger hair and grey eyes, but I think it often looks good when people have a honey-ish blonde hair colour with brown eyes. Not so much when it's platinum blonde or a very cool colour.

My 7 year old has blond hair and brown eyes. When he was a baby his hair was white blond, it's more golden now. His eyes are not dark chestnut brown like his siblings more of a greeny-hazel brown, but certainly brown, his skin is the same dark olive as his siblings and my DH. He's a stunner, I'm not just a boasting mum, a lot of people have said this.

I think blonde hair and brown eyes looks bad, no matter what the skin tone. It looks unnatural and for some reason a bit cheap. Brown eyes are meant for darker hair.

Prince George doesn't look "unnatural or cheap".

Ah it’s not weird! My DS has blonde curly hair and huge brown eyes and it’s gorgeous.
It’s more unusual yes but looks great. Often seen in Mediterranean countries. So slightly darker skin, brown eyes then blonde hair.

Jennifer Lopez has brown eyes and lots of blonde highlights and I think it really suits her.

Wow, what a bunch of comments we have here. I had no idea I looked so unnatural, grubby, weird and cheap.
I have brown eyes and naturally blonde hair, it was white blonde as a child. Though I do now have to highlight it as it’s got darker. My hair is naturally ashy toned so maybe it’s that.
I’ll never understand why some people say such negative things here for no apparent reason.

I think it's quite hard to get right , J Lo is an example of when it looks amazing, she just looks dipped in honey, but she does have a brown base which is better imo. In the photos linked above there is a big difference between Keira who is darker with lighter streaks & Katherines overall blonde. My youngest is white blonde with hazel eyes but he's fairly dark skin toned & his hair will defo go darker as he grows up.

DS has dark brown eyes and hair which turns blonde in the summer. Clearly I’m biased, but it is a stunning combination!

I think brown eyes and blond/e hair looks “wrong” - even when it’s natural. When I see the combination in a female, I assume they are bottle blonde.

Green eyes are the most stunning with any hair colour.

Ellie Goulding is a good example. Her dyed blonde hair looks harsh. Her brown eyes suited her natural hair colour, seen here when she was a child:
