Skater dress at my age? Yay or nay!

First thread in the section of MN I find scariest!

DH came home with a Ted Baker skater dress for me a couple of days ago. In my mind I associate this style with young, slim, leggy women. I am nearly 45 and only 5'2", curvy size 8-10. I am not sure I have the heart to say to him that it isn't 'me', but I have no idea what I would wear it for! My job is home based, I hardly ever have to go to an office, and when I do, it is pretty casual! Thoughts?

That's a really lovely thoughtful thing he's.done for you there. And the dress is not too young for you!

It looks fine. They're usually with, in my experience, minuscule and flared skirts. Though the skirt part does look a bit stiff (?) and lampshade like. Though that may just be the photo.

I think it looks beautiful on you, nice dress.

Humble apologies, OP. I didn't read the whole thread (annoying when people do that) and so only saw the model photo. The dress looks just fine on you. Lovely

I love it and it really suits you! Skater dresses are my go-to style. I have terrible dress envy now.
