Makeup storage and organisation

Hello, fellow fans and junkies.

I once had a beautiful dressing table set up, covered with perfectly organised and YouTube worthy storage. Since DCs and lack of space, everything had been popped into clear makeup bags which live under the bed apart from one small basket for day to day stuff to wear when I can be bothered.

How do you store yours? Pictures too to make me jealous? . ALSO, what's your most favourite/precious item you own?

The toast rack for palettes is a great idea. I used a letter rack from TK Maxx for mine in my dressing table days.

I use clear travel/makeup bags and store them by daily items/lipsticks/eyeshadows/blushers/brushes and tools.

I like the idea of everything being visible saves time and having to tip everything out and if you get the same style it looks vaguely organised on my bathroom shelf

Something like this, they also do a set of three sizes as well

I have this Zoeva Zoe tote bag. I don't have a dressing table and previously had makeup stashed throughout the house.

That Zoeva bag looks great, but too pricey for me.

I have all mine on or around my dressing table as otherwise I forget what I have!

Both those bags look really good. I have a lot of spare make up in a drawer, in baskets, in a wide Ikea Alex but wondering if that Amazon case would be better. I could put it on the shelf in the wardrobe. The Zoeva bag would be perfect for travelling.

Where did you find the turn table one Statistically?

It's on amazon, I think the brand is langforth. Officially holds 81 iirc but the holes are big enough that a lot of glosses and liquid lipsticks can double up.

check out Pinterest for storage ideas too. Sometimes people attach magnets to the base of the makeup containers and attach to a framed magnetised sheet on the wall. Looks a lot prettier than I'm describing!

Haha! It's actually moved and improved a little since then and I have a nice new mirror on the way too.

I like the lego storage. I.just know if I attempted that my boys would be pinching bricks from it!

Has anyone got the Alex drawers from Ikea? I have the short wide ones but I think I need to separate things out more so looking at the 9 drawer. Was wondering if the bottom drawer is deep enough for a hairdryer.

Enid. I have the 9 drawer Alex. The bottom drawer fits my hairdryer and babyliss big hair. It's great.

Oh that's great, thank you. It only just fits in the bottom of the wider Alex so that sounds much better.

I like the rubberised compartments by Made Smart (from TK Maxx or Amazon). My drawer is not very stylish but I never lose things!

I store some of mine in empty cotton bud containers. How embarrassing!!

I was just coming on to say the 9 drawer Ikea Alex unit. Am off to buy some foam board from hobby craft at the weekend to make drawer dividers which I saw on a YouTube video.
