I need a new hairstyle.
I have thick brown wavy hair that just sits on my head.
It is so dull.

I need advice, what ought I have done to it?
I have stuck a before picture of me in a profile. View it all she who dares.

I am thinking layers and highlights, but I really haven't a clue!

I'd go for a chin length bob with a long fringe.

Spagblog · 20/02/2007 22:34

pmsl Aloha!
I do have a very odd bone structure. I blame my father's side of the family

Looking at the hairstyle websites (big failure)I realised I am not oval, rectangular, heart shaped, round, square or diamond shaped.

I am clearly an elongated hexagon

Well, I like your face, so there!

Spagblog · 20/02/2007 22:36

OKay, so just a trim, a few layers and a new pair of specs.
Hope you realise I will be back again tomorrow in despair, haven't no idea what frames suit me!

Your hair looks gorgeous compared to my miserable tresses!! Look for a salon whose customers leave looking something akin to how you might like. Avoid those uber-trendy salons like the plague because they all tend to offer four/five styles per season and you WILL leave with one, whether you ask for it or not (I paid that price a good few years back and bought a woolly hat on the way home, it was that bad!!). Scissors are a powerful weapon...

Am dying to see the "after" photo once done - good luck!

Aloha · 20/02/2007 22:40

Smaller and darker frames for you, definitely. A slightly squarer shape but not those silly supertrendy narrow rectangles. Your current glasses are too low on your face. best ones follow the line of your eyebrows and your eye socket. The ones you have on drag your face down and make it look longer and sadder. If your glasses sat higher adn were a shade darker it would give you a more defined look and show off your beautiful cheekbones.

controlfreakyandroses · 20/02/2007 22:40

agree with aloha. if it's a choice between the hair and glasses then new glasses will do much more for overall gorgeousness.
do you have a friend whose style and taste is great? take her / him with you to big opticians and try EVERYTHING on until you find what suits you best.....

Spagblog · 20/02/2007 22:42

Right! Will go into Town on Thursday and have a look.
Thank you all mwah mwah!

i like your hair, really nice condition/colour..and you remind me of a friend of mine too!

i thought 'fan' was a typo for fab!

wotzsaname · 20/02/2007 22:59

You look nice....you don't look like the sort of person who would say 'sodding' im personally bloody fecking shocked!

controlfreakyandroses · 20/02/2007 23:04

what do you expect a person who says sodding to look like??

wotzsaname · 20/02/2007 23:05

very cross with a big frown mark! and horns!

colditz · 20/02/2007 23:07

Your hair is almost the same as mine

but I have no answer for you

But with those cheekbones you can get away with nearly everything.

Spagblog · 22/02/2007 19:43

Okay. I'm in danger of becoming an obsessive, self centered flake, but...

Do you think this would suit me?

OP posts:
Heavenis · 22/02/2007 19:45

Do you want the long or the short answer ?

Short answer Yes.

Long answer Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

Spagblog · 22/02/2007 19:48

Really? Oh good.
Reckon that it would take too much styling for a lazy slob type person?

OP posts:
littlerach · 22/02/2007 19:48

Youd o have amazing cheek bones.

2boysmacca · 22/02/2007 19:49

Can I butt in? If you want to coiffure it every day, I reckon it'd be great but that ain't a 'get up and go' sort of style. Do you use straighteners? Would you go for the 'in' bob? Just gone from boob length hair myself to chin length

funnypeculiar · 22/02/2007 19:49

um, it's lovely ... but looks like a faff to maintain, imho (but then I am not queen of style...
I think you look nice with it long...
