The BEST lip balm ever!

Disclaimer: I don't work for them! I just wanted to share, after following a recommendation on here, that Nuxe reve de Miel lip balm is the best I've ever used! My daughter and I have awful chapped lips, this sorted it almost overnight. I'm so pleased! Free delivery on their website too!

I'm a big convert of the Elemis one too, after I got a few of them from PILs who regularly fly BA and have loads of them stashed away.

When my lips are truly dry and cracked though (which has happens to me a lot) nothing works as well as hand lotion, actually. It actually soaks in rather than sits on your lips until you smear it onto something else.

I use the Nivea Coconut lip butter - it's amazing.

Sierra Bees lip balm, their tamanu and tea tree is my favourite at the moment, I use it when my lip has that pre cold sore tingle and it's averted it a few times. They have assorted packs of eight on eBay. They're a niche company from the US that I stumbled upon and they're organic.

Carmex. And I like the Burt bees one in the orangey tube with mint. and boots own on a stick. Everything else that I've tried has been rubbish. My lips never recovered from a course of roaccutane nearly 20 years ago.

HorseyHorseyTwat · 29/11/2016 18:02

Burts' Bees for softness and protection, but the tinted Carmex one in Berry is a close second and the most wonderful "my lips but better" colour.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 29/11/2016 18:05

Another vote for Blistex. DD loves Korres tinted.

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice · 29/11/2016 18:09

Burts Bees - also, their cuticle cream (in a pot) makes excellent lip balm.

Indecisivejo · 29/11/2016 18:19

I hated the nuxe one I returned it :(

665TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 29/11/2016 18:28

Snow fire - bleugh taste but amazing for healing cracks and sedating flaking

YorkiesGlasses · 29/11/2016 19:13

Burt's Bees here. I've stopped buying any other brand. Vaseline and all the other petroleum based ones don't work for me, my lips get 'dependent' on them and shrivel up without. Burt's Bees I often only put on at night, no chapping.

MrsderPunkt · 29/11/2016 19:20

Bodyshop cocoa butter one - I don't even need lipbalm in the daytime now, for the first time in my adult life! Just put it on before bed and it works it's magic. I bet they go and bloody discontinue it now.

nickdrakeslovechild · 29/11/2016 19:50

Yep EOS for me, have them all over the house and car! Worst is Vaseline or Decleor.

Mol1628 · 29/11/2016 19:57

Carmex. Also great for if you have a sore nose when you have a cold.

MrsGsnow18 · 29/11/2016 20:00

I needed this thread! My lips are terrible, always dry and cracked, I wake up most days and they are bleeding Sad certain things burn my lips because they are also so damaged (like salty food) I slap Vaseline but it never seems to solve my issues.
I'm off now to purchase and test out the Clinique one and the nuxe one!

RubyGoat · 29/11/2016 20:04

MrsderPunkt - sorry but a Body Shop rep told me this week that they are in fact discontinuing the entire cocoa butter line soon. I plan to stock up on the lip balm at the weekend, if there is any left, as it's my favourite too. I find the hemp lip balm a good second choice though. (Not as yummy, sadly.)

BadToTheBone · 29/11/2016 20:08

EOS, day time, one in coat pocket is used the most.
Vaseline, night time

I also have chopstick, carmex stashed around the house.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 29/11/2016 20:14

I always recommend eos on these threads! Amazing stuff.

SassyPants19 · 29/11/2016 20:15

This will sound utterly ridiculous but another top tip is... Lansinoh Nipple cream!!!! No joke - my lips were wrecked after having my baby and 48hrs of that on them and they were perfect again!! It amazing stuff for those desecrated nipples and those chapped lips!!!!

SteppingOnToes · 29/11/2016 20:19

Not keen personally. My go-to is the Carmex cherry in a tub

In summer, Boots Soltan range does SPF30 lipbalms.

Bojheybuddy · 29/11/2016 21:33

Lanolips Is the only thing that sorts my lips out. It's just lanolin but it's a bit more user friendly than lansinoh.

Doobigetta · 29/11/2016 21:57

Burt's Bees. Anything with mineral oil in will make chapping worse.

Plockplock · 30/11/2016 09:56

Quite expensive, but very long lasting, is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour lip balm. I'm prone to dry lips and this works very well and I don't have to use it as often as I needed to with other lip balms. It has also worked wonders on DH's lips. He's a saxophonist and years ago he split his bottom lip which then became infected and it frequently used to split in cold weather. Since I made him use Eight Hour lip balm, this doesn't happen anymore and he can continue playing without being in agony and making a bloody mess.
