do you have a stupid bra size?

DimpledThighs · 14/02/2007 19:53

I do.

I am 38 across my back - I have a broad back (not very feminine) and then the tinest of tiny boobies - an A cup to be precise.

38A

not bloody fair - most people with a broad back are at least usually blessed with huge norks.

those with an A cup are usually blessed with a danity frame.

Not me - huge bull of a back only to emphasize my tiny boobs.

And I can never find a bra I like in a nice size.

Come and commiserate with me about your boobies!

Pre-pregnancy I was a 32F (or FF in balcony-type bras), which was stupidly annoying. Bravissimo is good but my nearest shops are in Manchester and Chester, and I like to try bras on. Also in comparison with high-street prices, Bravissimo is really expensive.

I'm currently a 34G, but - and I know this sounds a bit chavvy - I discovered that the larger Asda shops sell Katie Price bras, and one of those styles fits me really well! They're £14, too!

Although goodness only knows what will happen when I start bfing!

Dimpled thighs, I am still waiting for you to jump up and down in excitment about finding some one with the same strange bra size

DimpledThighs · 15/02/2007 14:30

mycuoprunnethover...

I'm jumping, I'm jumping!

It is so crap isn't it? One of my dear der friends told me that a broad back means clothes hang better - bless him...

schneebly · 15/02/2007 14:34

38G here - not our of proportion though cos I am a big lass!

Overrun · 15/02/2007 14:35

Thank god you are jumping, and hey, we can jump with impunity cant we I do not know about wearing clothes better, I find that a lot of tops, really catch me on my rib cage and look shit.
I hear that Cher had some ribs taken out, which would probably be a good idea for me too. Not that I ever will.
I always think to myself, it wouldn't be so bad if I could just get to a b cup, but no defo an A

danceswithnewboots · 15/02/2007 14:38

32 FF - sassy I'm probably around same size as you as down a back size is up a cup size. When I was pg with dd a marks and spencers sales assistant laughingly told me 'oh we won't do nursing bras in your size'

CheesyFeet · 15/02/2007 14:48

38G

(droopy)

I've just been told that they might not disappear when (if) I lose more weight.

dh happy about that, I'm not though

Weatherwax · 15/02/2007 15:21

I think I'm currently a 38A too before the kids I was a 38AA. Sports bras were lovely and easy to get and use.

hotandbothered · 15/02/2007 15:37

30FF/G - am off to Asda this w/e to track down the Katie Price stuff. I have one saggy bra left so desperately need some uplift or they'll hit my knees
I am desperate for something pretty, not functional for a change...

Overrun · 15/02/2007 17:21

Whey hey, welcome to our select club Weatherwax. Am amazed by some of these large cup sizes, so completely out of my experience. I was overjoyed when I went up to a b size when first bfing the dcs

DimpledThighs · 15/02/2007 17:33

both my sisters are WELL endowed - like at least E cups and with my A it is very strange. They say they envy me but I certainly envy them - I cannpt image having big boobs and a clevage.

My niece once asks me why I didn't have any boobies to feed babies!!!

Overrun · 15/02/2007 17:36

its funny isn't it. Its a bit like if you have straight hair you want curly and vice versa. One of my sisters is the same as me, and the other one has quite a big bust. Both are not keen, I am reasonably not bothered about mine, even though I would like to be a bit bigger. I worry about other parts of my body more

HuwEdwards · 15/02/2007 17:36

DT, you have my sympathies - am 36 AA

slayerette · 15/02/2007 17:39

I am a 34H and I can't bear my size I just want to cry every time I see myself; I'm size 16 so not stupidly out ot proportion but do find my boobs ridiculous. I'm not as desperate about it as I was before I discovered Bravissimo but even so, shopping for bras is my idea of hell...

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 15/02/2007 20:41

Hotandbothered, make sure you phone them first, our local Asda doesn't stock them, it's only the bigger stores.

Good luck I really like mine, although not every style I tried on fitted me so well as the one I chose.

Oh and you have to really like pink!!!

suzycreamcheese · 15/02/2007 21:31

the range i saw was called Freya, am mightly pissed off that i cant fit it too..saw beautiful bra reduced to £9, but D cup size..

hotandbothered · 15/02/2007 23:42

Thanks ....MOSSY. Will do that cos the nearest Asda takes 3o minutse to get to so I'd be really cheesed off if they didn't even have any. Pink would please my dd no end!!!

wurlywurly · 16/02/2007 09:20

hot and bothered, I asked in asda before and they said it was only their bigger sized stores that stocked them, or the stores that just do the homeware and clothing. I would definatley give them a call before you go.

fizzbuzz · 16/02/2007 09:48

Sleyerette, know exactly how you feel, 32h/hh, AND work in a secondary school...nightmare.

Wish I could just deflate them..

slayerette · 16/02/2007 10:04

fizzbuzz, I work in a secondary school too! That's why I'm so relieved that I'm quite large generally, not just boobs, but even so I'm sure the kids must notice.

sassy · 16/02/2007 10:08

I am a size 12 from the ribcage down so am proportioned like Jordan.
Oh yeah, and I am a secondary teacher by profession - SAHM at the moment, but I feel your pain ladies!

fizzbuzz · 16/02/2007 11:39

Well you teaching lot...do you EVER have the courage to wear a white t shirt to school?!
I don't.. and I love white, but just too much on show, especially if it is cold!!

Also have to be careful not to show too much cleavage, wich is hard with bog boobs. What would be a normal neckline or someone else, shows everything on me.

Did ask dr for a boob job once...but got no where

slayerette · 16/02/2007 16:38

Have often wondered about a boob reduction but just too damn scared. And might have to lose weight to make the rest of me match if I suddenly got small boobs. Plus, can you imagine what the students would say/think?? 'Er, miss, where've your boobs gone?!'

Wear cream tops to work and do wear v-necks (cos if I don't, I just look sooooooo huuuuge - haven't worn a round-neck top for years!)- just don't bend over ever!

cheeryface · 16/02/2007 17:51

so wheres best for buying small boob / non existent boob bras?
