Just looking for some inspiration really as I know a lot of you like a challenge!

Its a formal but not posh do.
Don't want to wear a hat.
Am size 10 and 5'6"

Dd will be almost 10. She's tall and slim. Not girly girly, more into combats and T-shirts but will wear a skirt. Definitely no fru-fru

The wedding is in June. Am really excited as I didn't think any more of my friends were going to bother with marriage!

Help please!

Right. Am off work tomorrow. Was supposed to be doing domestic stuff like buying food and cleaning the pigsty, but what the heck.
Can you find me some wedges then please?
(I am SOOOO out of touch)

love that cardi - I recommended it to someone yesterday who was looking for pistachio knitwear

LA have some good stuff this season.

auntymandy... what size are you? I have a lovely Formes dress (charcoal grey), size 14 (but quite long, so probably no good if you are under about 5 foot 5-ish), which you can have if you'd like it (assuming I can find it after recent house move). It's a bit dark for a wedding, but you could brighten it up with some bright jewellery and cardi or jacket.... Let me know if you're interested.

Am gatecrashing here as I also have to go to a (likely to be rather elegant) wedding at the end of March and have no idea what to wear. Like the LA dress, but am NOT slim, so probably not a good idea!

Yeah cod... bit like wearing a big arrow pointing at the gut. (I think not.) Shame though. If only I could borrow my sister's body for the day... it'd look lovely on her.

Dh doesn't see why I can't wear the suit I wore when we got married 8 years ago. Men, eh?

Oops, sorry, answered coat question and then accidentally deleted that bit of post (???)

Yes, I have a nice brown coat (long, thick) but would like to think I might get away with something lighter as otherwise I'm gonna be lugging it around all day. (Wedding in London with wedding and reception in different places and us staying with friends somewhere else again, so will be getting tubes and taxis, etc...)

I liked some of the stuff on the Principles site. Will have to get into a real shop and try some things on. (I am very pale, so need some colour, methinks. Next trouser suits on MrsB's link would look foul on me.)

Spring mac a good idea (it's bound to rain, isn't it?). Doubt I'll be cold, as I tend not to feel the cold too much.

Am 5 foot 6, size 14-ish but of ample norkage so tend to go for a 16 on top half. Podgy waist, but not too bad round the arse/legs. Don't like showing my knees, though. Or bingo wings. Will happily flash cleavage about, though. Does that help? I'm liking some of the Principles stuff, but don't do this often enough, so find it hard to imagine it on me. Will have to go to a shop and try stuff on. What a drag!

janeite · 11/02/2007 20:38

M & S have some nice spring coats but since I'm failing dismally at doing links, I'm not going to try. Go to "women" and "tailored jackets".

janeite · 11/02/2007 20:38

And ignore all the Per Una ones!

Principles have a couple of macs - the blue one or the orange one?

Whilst you're all looking, please can you help me to find shoes and a jacket?
