Boots for a summer wedding

LaCerbiatta · 07/02/2007 12:35

I'm going to a wedding in th end of June in Granada (very hot) and don't know what to wear. My problem is that I hate my legs (with a passion) they're too skinny from the knee down, completely shapeless, with calves not defined iyswim. They're not in proportion wih my thighs and I think I just look horrible in skirts unless.... I'm wearing boots. Are there summer boots acceptable for a wedding or should I just think of an alternative outfit? Last year went to a wedding and wore a knee length dress with sandals, but looking at the pictures am not happy with it at all...

yes!

MrsBadger · 07/02/2007 15:52

naily, tugamommy is a size 10, so by rights she should wear a large filthy sack and do penance to make the rest of us look better .

Failing that, Monsoon is never a bad place to start - what kind of shape are you apart from the legs, tuga?

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 15:54

not sure about the colour...

JackieNo · 07/02/2007 15:55

How about this ?

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 15:56

here, would suit formal?

MrsBadger · 07/02/2007 15:57

like the style of Jackie's one
not 100% on the taffeta naily...

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 15:57

no me neither...

MrsBadger · 07/02/2007 15:58

much better naily

the only long one in Monsoon is very empirey - top right

JackieNo · 07/02/2007 16:06

Monsoon has some other longer strapless dresses , but not sure if any are quite right - apart from the 2 black ones. I love the blue Isabel one, but not sure it's long enough.

LawdyMissTutter · 07/02/2007 16:07

well if you're local to me (RG10) you'd be very welcome to pick them up

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 16:08

omg MrsB the vintage rose one in monsoon looks utterly gorgeous

and the tulip one is nice too

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 16:12

here

MrsBadger · 07/02/2007 16:12

how did I miss the Vintage Rose one? gah.

I still like your cowl-neck one in navy, naily - v sophisticated, esp on a blonde...

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 16:14

here

nailpolish · 07/02/2007 16:14

yes i like the navy too, very uncommon these days

JackieNo · 07/02/2007 16:18

This is a pretty colour, but maybe too delicate?

Possibly this ?
Lovely colour .

MrsBadger · 07/02/2007 16:23

the nude-coloured one is stunning!

red one also good, turquoise not great as it has that slit.

JackieNo · 07/02/2007 16:29

(MrsB - if you like that nude colour, they do maternity stuff too)

LaCerbiatta · 07/02/2007 16:29

beautiful dresses girls! Love the monsoon ones. So, my shape: I have very long legs but not in a good way, my upper body looks too small. Also I have a bit of a tummy (it's incredible how not a very big tummy looks huge because your upper body is small iyswim) and big hips. Breast wise I'm a now deflated 34B. This means that the first debenhams dress is the wrong shape because for it to fit around the hips it would be too big around the boobs, they always are. I think I look good with something structured and strapless is also ok because have broad shoulders. In general separates work are easier than to find a good fitting dress....

Hmm - skirt and top ?

LaCerbiatta · 07/02/2007 16:34

Where's RG10 MissTutter? Close to cambridge by any chance?...

MrsBadger · 07/02/2007 16:34

Coast! Coast!
structured seperates a-go-go, inc tummy-controlling bodice things with matching long skirts - individual outfits are impossible to link to though

Also long skirts+bodices from Monsoon

have to dash now so will leave you in Jackie's capable hands

NB what's your colouring? dark / fair / olive / English rose?

LaCerbiatta · 07/02/2007 16:38

I'm olive skin (with yellow tones), hazel eyes and brown hair. I'm in the process of booking a 'colour me beautiful' session for color analysis so will hold any color choices until after that. Coast looks great!

LawdyMissTutter · 07/02/2007 16:41

i went to a wedding in gibraltar a couple of years ago and the look was more relaxed than that
