Calling all hazel-green eyed ladies, which eyeliners bring out the green?

Sometimes my eyes look very hazel and at times very green. I like the green and would like an eyeliner that helps make my eyes'pop' as they say! Any recommendations? I don't wear eyeshadow.

Plum. I've also known teal green to work brilliantly and eyeshadow wise, if you wanted to, lilacs and links can make the green really stand out, although pink can make it stand out way too much!

Amethyst81 · 02/10/2016 03:58

I find silver, navy, very light blue and purple good for my hazel eyes. I completely avoid browns, taupes and beige shades as they make the green disappear and make my eyes look dull.

VioletBam · 02/10/2016 03:59

Going opposite on the colour wheel is what makes certain colours "pop" so red, being opposite green does make them stand out...but if red is too much, try maroon or warm brown.

CoYoAddict · 02/10/2016 05:29

my eyes are more on the bluey green spectrum but I find that coppery browns make them look more green and less blue.

Having said that I am a lazy fecker with make up and can't see to put eyeliner on properly without my glasses anyway so I only wear it if I am going out and ask DD to do it.

Pearlglide intense eyeliner in undercurrent by Mac. Amazing stuff.

Nettletheelf · 02/10/2016 07:17

I've got that plum Kiko mascara too. It's very effective when combined with purple liner and plummy eyeshadow. Makes my eyes look less sludgy and greener. They also do a good royal purple mascara. I don't layer the mascaras over black though. It reduces the effect.

bigbuttons · 02/10/2016 09:49

DustyOfSkye can you give more info? It's a teal colour isn't it?

I can't picture purple mascara at all, does anyone have any pictures? I'd quite like some as I also have green eyes, but only use mascara as eye makeup unless it's a special occasion.

dementedma · 02/10/2016 10:03

I have very green eyes and agree that plum helps to highlight the colour.

Tantpoke · 02/10/2016 10:13

I have very green eyes and have been wearing Macs courdory eye shadow a lot. But after this thread I'm going to try some plum eyeshadow I got free with Clinique a while back.

DustyOfSkye · 02/10/2016 15:26

Hi bigbuttons yes, it's a sort of metallic teal. I love it as the colour is quite dramatic and brings out the flecks of green in my eyes. Plus the pearl shine seems to help it glide on more smoothly than a traditional liner.

It's quite expensive, I buy mine at around £14 duty free, but worth it I think. It last ages and doesn't rub off although you can blend it like a kohl as it's quite a flexible substance.

Loving the idea of purple mascara as suggested on this thread. Definitely going to give that a go I think.

DuckingAunts · 02/10/2016 15:31

There's a Chanel eye pencil called Violet Smoke which is amazing for green eyes. It's like a purple grey colour.

It's now only sold in the US and their website won't ship to the UK. To say I'm devastated is an understatement!

I also use the utility grey PowerPoint pencil from Mac which is pretty good at bringing out the green.

ohdofeckoffnowdear · 02/10/2016 15:39

Rose golds and burgundies are another colour that make green eyes pop. Dior do a amazing eye liner in burgundy, pro liner in shade 862. Also got a stunning dark rose gold liquid eyeliner from Lancôme art liner shade 020 Grin

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 02/10/2016 15:45

do Benefit still do the plum mascara??
....that was lovely for bringing up green eyes.

I am going to have a look when shopping next week!

hollyisalovelyname · 02/10/2016 15:46

Red lipstick makes my eyes look greener too.

DustyOfSkye · 02/10/2016 15:47

I alos find that my hair colour has quite an effect on how green my eyes look. Like you bigbuttons mine are hazel/green, but much more hazel than green. When I put copper tones in my hair, my eyes definitely look more green.

bigbuttons · 02/10/2016 16:29

Thank you, brands to look up ( rubs hands)!
dusty do you think it would be too bright for an old gimmer like me( 49)? I've had a look at it and it's looks wonderful. I see there is a purple in that range have you tried that?

the pro magenta dior looks very red/purple. I like the look of that. Does it wear well? I have oily lids!

Expensive pink from MAC - was recommended for me and I love it.

Bodicea · 02/10/2016 16:55

It's a bit of a rose gold

ClaudiaApfelstrudel · 02/10/2016 16:56

Silver works best for me

bigbuttons · 02/10/2016 17:15

I guess it depends on the colour of green? The rose pink also sounds lovely. I'll look it up.

Green. I have green eyes and it make them look greener. I sometimes put a line of green under black. Mac is the best one I've found.
Apparently there is no green pigment in green eyes, it's a mixture of brown, blue and gold which is why the seem to change colour depending on lighting and colours around them.

DustyOfSkye · 02/10/2016 17:46

I've tried the purple buttons but it doesn't really suit me, probably because of my reddish hair. It makes me look like I haven't had enough sleep Smile
Although I do like the sound of purple mascara, maybe a hint just on the tips.

It's not so much a bright colour as a bold one, but quite a deepish shade. I'm only a few years younger than you and feel fine wearing it.

bigbuttons · 02/10/2016 17:53

your'emywifenow can you remember which mac green you like?
Thanks dusty looks like a trip to the mac store is in order Smile ( and the Dior counter!)
