Red to a Wedding?

Can I wear this to a wedding or is it a faux pas? The wedding is at a very high end mansion/no church element. I'm there day and evening. TYIA!

Thanks Pink! Not a style that would suit me I'm afraid, but appreciate the help!

Felicia - thank you! - I'd always be at the back as I'm well over 6ft in heels!!!

I think is absolutely fine and wouldn't think twice about wearing it to a wedding. Grin

The dress looks lovely but save it for a black tie do. It's not very weddingy.

Ted baker has some nice midi dresses with similar arm straps to your dress.

Thank you Omg!

Cheers Euro! I can't do midi without tights, and then I look a bit covered and wintery 😩

I should design dresses, I know what I want in my head 😁

Here's my stand

You look bloody gorgeous. Your comfortable in the dress, you've been invited to the wedding, you've (i assume) buysing a gift and probably a card. What more do you need?

Wear that dress with pride you look stunning.

If your really concerned style it down with a bag, shoes and a casual wrap but bloody wear it. Hell if I looked that good I wear it bloody shopping

^^ What she said.
You look gorgeous, better than the model.
If wearing evening dress is wrong, it's still not rude or offensive or anything, so doesn't matter!

Hmm - I'm with the 'don't wear an evening dress in the day' camp. It looks fabulous on you, but it ain't right. It's the same as when people recommend dresses which are far too short and look like something you'd go clubbing in. You see a lot of similarly wrong stuff at the races.

Coast have some lovely stuff in - longer dresses which aren't evening wear, separates and even some very pretty and elegant trousers.

Ok bit late to the party after asking for a pic.
Wow you look gorgeous in that lovely shape. I actually think you could pull that off to a wedding a wee cream cropped fitted jacket and why not.

I think for a posh mansion style wedding that it's perfectly fine, and not too revealing. Without a church I think the dress code can be much more flexible and I don't think you will look overdressed, personally.

And I think pp has a got idea about a short fitted jacket rather than shawl for the daytime bit ^^

You know what, having been almost the first to say don't wear it, now I've seen you in the navy I love it! Much less overtly sexy than the red on the model, just really nice and elegant. Go for it!

The wedding isn't this weekend is it? I'm going to a wedding in a big mansion with no church element, but it's going to be quite casual dress code although that wasn't stated on invite! Very very long shot but just incase it's the same one Wink

Only wrong to wear red to a wedding if you're living in Game Of Thrones.

You look stunning in that dress. However, its an evening dress. Is the wedding black tie? If not, you'll look like a bridesmaid.

With your figure you could wear just about anything.

I think you look great in the dress and if it's at a fancy mansion then you'll fit right in.
