biker jacket? I want to like it but I feel ridiculous in it.

Spent nearly £300 on one from Jigsaw - gutted.

Although mine isn't exactly a biker style leather jacket, (which is probably worse) it's a short leather (faux -definitely worse) jacket, I got it a couple of years ago & it's been worn once.

I've attempted to wear it many times....school run, (like I've seen many other mums wearing & looking absolutely great) out & about - but only to change my mind & put it back in the wardrobe, having convinced myself I look silly! I end up wearing the same old anorak or hoodie. Why can't I wear it & think like I look OK in it? The only good point is it only cost £17 so not a huge loss!

I got one from tk maxx a few years back and never feel great in it, think it's because I've got a short body but long legs and tend to suit hip length better than waist length (especially with my growing muffin top and tum)

It might just be the shock of the new. Most of us get used to dressing in a certain way and cringe a bit when we try something different. For example, I'm too old to wear proper face powder anymore, the first few times I went out without it, I thought that the big shiney face on me could be seen from space but, after a few positive comments, I got used to it.

If your going to put it on EBay, you've already taken a £150 loss on it, so you might as well spend a week wearing it, just in case you fall in love.

I really like that asos one cheese, I have just decided I would like more tan or caramel clothes. But I am 48 and have fairly large norkage, can I still do it?

cheeseandmarmite15 · 10/09/2016 19:55

I'm a 34c and on a tallish frame so not sure if big boobs and biker jackets will suit!

I found this though

www.bravissimo.com/pepperberry/products/sale/coats/jackets/leather-biker-jacket/tan/pc158tan/

It's a lovely colour and looks nice undone. The photo where it's done up on the brunette girl looks like they've deliberately pushed her boobs up!

RickOShay · 11/09/2016 01:39

Cheese thank you Grin. I like the bravissimo one, but I am 5 8, and one of the reviews said it was too short. I am a size 12, but norks are 34f. Is the asos one forgiving of lumps and bumps?

ChishandFips33 · 11/09/2016 02:14

I'm like this with Dr Martens - always Envy when I see others in them
I got a biker jacket a year ago but have only just started tentatively wearing it. You kind of 'grow into' the look/feel of them
Try it on a weekend when you're more casual - jeans/t shirt times, nice scarf

What does "looking like a tit" mean?

darksideofthemooncup · 11/09/2016 03:08

I know exactly what you mean OP. I hankered after those faux leather leggings thinking that they would make me look a bit edgy. Unfortunately they made my legs look like two overstuffed black puddings Sad

CoolToned · 11/09/2016 03:09

This is me, but with bomber jackets.
