or is this actually fashionable?

www.next.co.uk/g5434s5#454851

Went to pick up some school uniform from a store yesterday and saw this Shock There were other equally hideous items too. Wolf fleeces next?

Yes agree...90s. I had a top or two like that...but made of mesh. Mine were from Warehouse.

KittensDoNotLikeFluffyBlankets · 08/09/2016 15:42

That's fashionable. There are a lot of bombers with appliqué badges around now, sort of a retread of Ozbeck and Maharishi.

AGenie · 08/09/2016 15:44

Next are the only people who make trousers that fit me. Smile I'd be stuck if they didn't exist.

burnishedsilver · 08/09/2016 15:47

Its not for me but I don't hate it.

shovetheholly · 08/09/2016 15:48

I spent loads of time shopping last weekend, and there are lots of these gypsy-inspired clothes with roses vomited all over them. Also, lots of dresses in horrible brown and orange prints. I think the whole style is hideous.

I suspect that fashion designers have just gone 'Oh, radicalism's in the air, let's do another round of late 60s/early 70s hippy chic'. Eurgh.

Lweji · 08/09/2016 15:49

This reminded me that I have a Next voucher to use.

Not on that sweater, though.

annielostit · 08/09/2016 15:56

Fashion comes round about every 30years. There's lots of loafers about now and lower heeled/ kitten heel court shoes. We had them in the 80/90s as well.

Yes, but we all seem to be of the age when we wore them and cringe now at the thought.

wondering what I have done to my sweaters now

Lweji · 08/09/2016 16:02

Many teenagers where I live wear checkered shirts.

must also find mine

IWillOnlyEatBeans · 08/09/2016 16:18

Ha, I actually quite like it!

I used to love those Marharishi trousers!

whitehandledkitchenknife · 08/09/2016 16:23

Be afraid Lweji…..

Next, you'll have the Sweater Shop making a come back. grin

…..it has.Confused

Lweji · 08/09/2016 16:26

So it has.

must find my Sweater Shop sweater

mumsnit · 08/09/2016 16:27

Like the embroidery.... but not on a sweatshirt Shock I like the Japanese style prints around this year but I seriously can't wear a bomber jacket again. Far too 80s 'Pretty in Pink'!!

However the Next womenswear collection this year is pretty bad. I walked into my local one today and didn't see a single thing I liked. Their kids stuff is really nice this season though - just wish they made some of the girls clothes in my size!

ILoveMyMonkey · 08/09/2016 16:28

I have that sweatshirt, I like it - the world would be a boring place if we all dressed the same Grin, plus I'm too young to have worn this the first time round.

venusinscorpio · 08/09/2016 16:34

I think it's cute! It's a bit too high necked for my boobs I think, but I might try it on and see what it looks like. And I did wear sweatshirts (in pastel colours) the first time round, although I was only about 9 or 10 Smile

Aworldofmyown · 08/09/2016 16:36

A bit like these empress trousers

MalodyandJim · 08/09/2016 16:44

Silky bomber jackets are everywhere at the moment.

Got a lovely one from river island

MylaMimi · 08/09/2016 16:53

Technically it's in fashion. Embroidered everything has been huge all spring/summer. Sweatshirt jumpers have made a comeback. Khaki is big news (related to the camouflage trend).

Wearing that item depends on the wearer. With a flippy short kilt skirt, tights and over-knee suede boots, and a satchel bag, on a pretty girl/woman with good hair (maybe a careless ponytail) it would look very fashionable. On my mum (bless her) it would look straight out of an old catalogue...

strongswans · 08/09/2016 17:12

I like it! Will be ordering tonight! Thanks Smile boring if we all liked the same thing

mooimevrouw · 08/09/2016 17:12

I really think it depends who's wearing it.
I actually really like it. Love the colour and the shape and embroidery is 'of the moment'
However, I can't imagine many women round here wearing it, as they're all in the Boden/white stuff uniform. Their daughters might though.

PacificDogwod · 08/09/2016 17:16

There's loads of really odd stuff about just now.... Hmm

I agree, it's early 80s all over again - and I didn't even like it then Grin

EmpressTomatoKetchup · 08/09/2016 19:04

aworld those are just wrong. I thinking something more along the lines of these as worn by All Saints....

I had a pair from top shop, I loved them digs out Nike air rifts, cropped vest top, pops down to Fabric...oh hold on a minute

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/09/2016 20:26

I actually quite like it. I wouldn't wear it because it wouldn't suit me, but I'd be happy to buy/wear it otherwise. Cotton too.
