So I bought this today (looks miles better on)

Planning to wear on Saturday night but can't decide whether to throw on a pair of killer heels or invest in some footless tights and ballet shoes.. what shall I wear... you decide!

Alternative suggestions welcome. also opinion on dress. The only thing I should mention is that it's shorter than I expected.

oh I like that, very nice indeed - I'd go for killer heels, make your legs look great.

nailpolish · 02/02/2007 14:46

dress seems a bit drab for a saturday night out

sorry

but, to answer your question ,i wouldnt wear killer heels with it, maybe some footless tights and pumps as you say

but
i owuldnt normally wear flat shoes for a saturday night out

then again
i wouldnt wear a dress like that, its kind of daytime/lunch with mates/shop in town kind of thing

HTH but it prob doesnt

FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 14:47

LOL np, it's too short for daytime and I want to go for a casual (made no effort but is stunning kind of look) iykwim

OP posts:
MamaGrits · 02/02/2007 14:48

I don't think it is daytime, you can dress it up for night with heels, or down for day with flats.

FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 14:48

The picture does it no justice tbh.. length is about mid thigh (so very short for me)

OP posts:
nailpolish · 02/02/2007 14:49

but its knitted

ok, wear heels

just not patent pointy killer types, maybe platform round toe?

do you want some links?

expatinscotland · 02/02/2007 14:49

This dress can be jazzed up w/accessories.

What will you be doing?

A lot of dancing, walking, standing around? Are you really, really comfortable in heels?

They do elongate your legs, so if you've not got ones that are long and the dress is shorter than you're used to, I'd be inclined to go for heels.

What jewellry?

MamaGrits · 02/02/2007 14:50

oh yes,m platform round toe would look great

nailpolish · 02/02/2007 14:50

no nceklaces

very long thin earrings, big chunky bracelet

whats your hair like?

FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 14:52

I have a lovely pair of bluey-gray t-bar round toed shoes think they would look good with it (high heel)

I'm more comfortable in heels as that's what I wear dayin-dayout but don't want to take away from the casualness.

Thought maybe some chunky beads (but not normally my thing) or maybe no jewellery at all?

We're going to a members only nightclub/live music venue, not sure what it'll be like

OP posts:
FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 14:53

ok, scrap the beads.

OP posts:
FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 14:54

I don't wear earings. can't really describe my hair. dark at the moment really hacked into straight, just below shoulder length. Thought I'd wear it straight and glossy

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 02/02/2007 14:54

i'd do chunky beads w/it, just not long ones.

MamaGrits · 02/02/2007 14:55

yes, and your shoes sound good

I probably will wear a chunky bangle, I've quite a few of them.

I don't think I could get away with black with the dress or boots tbh

If I wear my blue/grey shoes should I go bare legged?

Shall I try and post a photo? thanks guys.

i was thinking fishnets but the dress is quite fussy (patterned, holey) i didnt know if fishnets would create more fuss...

nailpolish · 02/02/2007 15:01

bare legged if you have nice smooth tanned pins

and as for wearing a dress - once you wear one you wont go back! i love wearing dresses

FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 15:01

nude fishnets? I think, anniemac, it was you who talked me round to those after I posted somethng along the lines of "What's the point in those!!" on a thread. I have some now you'll be pleased to know

OP posts:
MamaGrits · 02/02/2007 15:01

yes I thought that np

link to shoes MOH!

nailpolish · 02/02/2007 15:02

footless tights are nice

i never thought so but i have a pair and i like them

FatFikAndFugly · 02/02/2007 15:02

I love wearing dresses np, but I always feel overdressed - if that makes sense. I'm trying to learn to wear a dress and still feel casual/comfortable iykwim

OP posts:
nailpolish · 02/02/2007 15:03

well in that case MOH you have picked a really nice one - not too dressy or fussy

have a great night on sat!
