Footner Klaxon!

JellyBellyKelly · 04/07/2016 19:52

Right... I have a wedding in the middle of August to which I'd like to wear strappy sandals, but my feet and especially my heels are a complete state.

So, I have bitten the bullet and bought Footner.

I never bought I'd say this but I'm getting to see Mumsnet for its true colours. so... (Deep breath)

Anyone want a photo diary?

They will peel honest. I've just ordered my pre holiday former from e bay as its only £11.99 on there.

My DD loves peeling my feet, Dh hates it because I leave a trail of dead skin everywhere I go. The bed in the mornings is particularly gross 😂

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 20/07/2016 22:48

It's very satisfying!

JellyBellyKelly · 20/07/2016 23:16

Mine have started a very unsatisfying semi peel that is, teeny bits are coming off when I pick them but nothing worth photos of yet. Hopefully, one more day and soak will bring photo worthy news...

I recently used Footner and after 5 days there was a bit of peeling. Nothing worth getting excited about though . My electricy foot file thingy is far more effective.

I feel hard done by Sad.

farkoff · 21/07/2016 14:06

itsnot That's what I'm hoping for!

jenny Don't say that...my feet are all sandpaper-y!! I need them to peel Confused

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 21/07/2016 14:37

I'm another person for whom Footner seems to do very little really. Yes they peel like hell, but even after two rounds of the things three weeks apart, my feet are still tough as anything. I am just learning to embrace the hard feet. At least I can comfortably walk barefoot! My feet have never been dry and cracked or anything though. I just think thy are naturally hard Sad.

farkoff · 21/07/2016 19:34

Oh my god...it has begun!! It's everything I had hope for, and more!

Want a picture? It's fucking gross.

HemanOrSheRa · 21/07/2016 19:40

Holy Moly Shock! Yes please fark. Oooh this thread is ace. How long does the peeling take to complete?

farkoff · 21/07/2016 19:46

I got fed up with waiting for it to start so sat with my feet in a washing up bowl of warm water for an hour this afternoon whilst DS napped Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 21/07/2016 19:50

Oh that is beautiful fark Grin. I'm definitely doing this.

HermioneWeasley · 21/07/2016 20:29

It's not sore when you're peeling it off? It's certainly very impressive!

farkoff · 21/07/2016 21:28

Nope, not sore at all. I thought it might hurt a little but it's been absolutely pain-free. It's the top layer of dead, hard skin. The soaking is essential.

farkoff · 21/07/2016 21:31

I've had to Dyson the sofa and the carpet.

Twice.

JellyBellyKelly · 22/07/2016 10:07

So mine's begun too but it's coming off in tiny bits not the big long strips I was hoping for

Still the skin underneath looks much better.

Superb! Grin

Pinkvici22 · 22/07/2016 12:18

I love this. I've bought one but I wear court shoes to work with no tights ....I'm worried skin will just be falling out of my shoes????

TwigTheWonderKid · 22/07/2016 13:19

That's what I was thinking Pinkvici22 How can you possibly wear sandals or flipflops in public whilst this is happening? And the instructions say some people can peel for 2 weeks!

bombayflambe · 22/07/2016 13:29

you'll need to swap to socks and shoes for a few days. Not that onerous surely?
I did one a few days before setting out on a business trip to a hot, modest country and was wearing socks and sensible shoes all the time. Forgot about the footner, saw no peeling or warning, then one night after a 16 hour day, largely on my feet in the hot weather, I took of my socks to go to bed and the whole surface of my feet came away. Socks black on the outside, white on the inside. straight in the bin!

piddleypower · 22/07/2016 14:09

I did this eight days ago - didn't realise we were soon to have the hottest day of the year and summer suddenly arrive. Big mistake!! Nothing happened for about five days, but then I went to the Board meeting on the hottest day of the year and the peeling arrived in spades. Looked like I had some sort of serious tropical skin condition. I had to wear court shoes and tights! Fantastic stuff - can I get one for the face ?!!

TwigTheWonderKid · 22/07/2016 16:00

bombayflake the only shoes I own to wear with socks are trainers and I don't think socks and trainers are a great look with skirts and dresses and it's too humid to wear trousers (or indeed socks and shoes) here in London :-(

OMGSame · 22/07/2016 16:35

How does the skin underneath feel? Is it all sensitive? I really want to do this, my feet are manky with some hard bits of skin and I'm also a peely skin and sporn conneseur and it looks like fun. Problem is, I have a serious aversion to my own feet and even cutting my toenails sometimes takes more bravery than I have available.

JellyBellyKelly · 22/07/2016 19:06

Absolutely fine OMG not sensitive at all.

OP posts:
JellyBellyKelly · 31/07/2016 18:19

So, my after shots now all the peeling has finished (sorry my feet are a bit mucky... Been out in the garden)

Verdict? It's ok... But only 'OK'. My feet look a bit better from a distance but close scrutiny shows they could be much better. I probably wouldn't buy it again.

The hunt for something that will sort my feet out continues....

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 31/07/2016 20:34

Jelly that's kind of what happened with me really. I had loads of peeling though and was all excited, but the end result? A bit meh. My feet are really not noticeably better than how they started, sigh.
