I am VERY pale and the only self-tanner I ever loved was way back in the early 90s. It was by Lancome and called "Esprit de Soleil". It was a moisturiser/self-tanner and looked 100% natural on me.

I have since tried St Tropez, Xen-Tan, Lancome flash bronzer, etc. No luck at all - all too orangey and fake-looking. I have never found anything close to replacing that old product.

Will try Clarins next (I've certainly heard good things about it). If that doesn't work, I'll maybe think about giving up the quest for a tan!

Flex shampoo and conditioner, and the Body Shop orchid oil cleanser.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 03/07/2016 22:37

Clinique mineral makeup. It was a shaved powder; you twisted the lid down until it was gone. I wasn't allergic to it, it was nice and pale and it wasn't absurdly priced. The Clinique counter ladies commiserated with me on the loss of that one. Apparently it was rather successful too!

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 03/07/2016 22:41

Can't seem to find anything as good as YSL touche eclat foundation.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/07/2016 22:47

I've seen Flex in £Shops, no idea if it smells the same .
Bodyshop Orchid Cleanser -yes. I bought a 1 litre bottle when I was at college (with a pump) I think it lasted a year.
And the Salad Oil conditioner and their Fresh Green (IIRC) shampoo, smelled like fresh cut grass.

Yeast pac face pack. Amazing at drying up spots overnight.

alltouchedout · 03/07/2016 22:55

L'Oréal Translucide foundation. It's been years and years and I have never found one that works as well (of course, given the length of time it may well not be right for my skin now but I would like the chance to find out!).

maggiethemagpie · 03/07/2016 23:00

The original clinique turnaround cream. They turned it into a serum to try and sell it for more, I suppose, but its not the same neither is the overnight cream. If it aint broke don't fix it!

Melfish · 03/07/2016 23:03

Body Shop Oatmeal gel cleanser, Dewberry stuff and their milk bath. Why can't the Body Shop return to their 90s incarnation? Much better than their current stock. For those of you with Dewberry nostalgia (there must be someone other than me, surely!) perfumes with figs in them such as the Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi or Roger and Gallet Fleur de Figuier are quite dewberryish.
Boots Natural Collection Japonica Hair Serum.
I think I just want to go back to 1995.

HopeClearwater · 03/07/2016 23:43

conkerpods that T-zone mattifying gel was excellent! I can't think why they discontinued it. Really good product.

CattDamon · 03/07/2016 23:55

Salmiak have you tried Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl?

I used to love Virgin Vie's detox shampoo. It made my greasy teenage hair feel light & fluffy. I still mourn it.

I'd agree with previous posters about St Moritz. Although the pump action is quite powerful may have it all over my bed room wall

CoolCarrie · 03/07/2016 23:58

Anne French cleanser and face pack! First ever cleanser I used, and face pack was excellent too.

ephemeralfairy · 04/07/2016 00:01

Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo from Lush. Smelled glorious and achieved the nigh-on impossible feat of making my fine hair look thicker AND shiny!

BerriesandLeaves · 04/07/2016 00:04

Comfort Naturals Aloe Vera fabric conditioner

BerriesandLeaves · 04/07/2016 00:06

The old Body Shop conditioner, not the one they do now. It seemed like it had banana pulp in it.

hollyisalovelyname · 04/07/2016 00:14

Cutex did a blusher years ago, it was a lovely golden bronzer. Sad

RedRoseMummy · 04/07/2016 00:15

The Body Shop did a White Gardenia fragrance for about ten minutes. I loved it as a day scent and bought six bottles when I found out it was going. Never found a Gardenia fragrance I've liked as much.

Capricornandproud · 04/07/2016 00:21

Omygod Choc, the candy floss lip balm! Thought it was Body Shop but it's that long ago my memory's playing tricks Grin My sister just did an order with Body Shop and ordered White Musk which brought back memories...

ursuslemonade · 04/07/2016 00:40

Naked coco de mer bath products.
Sanex 0% ammonium free roll ons. They had the 24 and 48 hours version, both of them disappeared.
Next on the list is (I fear) the Halos n Horns baby bath range as it's sold out nearly everywhere and the website is down.
This was the single best ( and cheapest, also British) SLS-free baby product range I've been using for myself as well.

Clinique impossibly glossy lipgloss. In sugar plum

SimplyNigella · 04/07/2016 07:13

I remember Candy Floss lip balm too, I think there was a Toffee Apple also.

Salmiak would Niod Photographt Fluid be the sort of thing you are looking for?

HoggleHoggle · 04/07/2016 07:20

Red rose have you tried the Penhaligon Gardenia fragrance? It is £££, but lovely I think.

Penhaligon discontinued their Violetta fragrance which makes me very sad. Working my way through a list of alternatives but so far nothing comes close to the powdery parma violet smell.

AbsolutelyIDo · 04/07/2016 07:26

Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation. Nothing has ever come close since it went. It was heavenly.

GuinevereBeck · 04/07/2016 07:42

MorrisZap Yes! CCB, or as my sister and I used to call it, the Creatures of Beauty Grin. I loved the Agnes B make up, and I think I remember the shampoo too. It's so unfair, the club was still going on the continent and the US for ages after they stopped it here, I used to look longingly at the website but you couldn't order anything. Getting the little catalogue was great fun, and the gifts were awesome, still have my Agnes B backpack Grin. They did a great body lotion too, and some of the Cosmence skincare was lovely. Feeling all nostalgic...
