I am VERY pale and the only self-tanner I ever loved was way back in the early 90s. It was by Lancome and called "Esprit de Soleil". It was a moisturiser/self-tanner and looked 100% natural on me.

I have since tried St Tropez, Xen-Tan, Lancome flash bronzer, etc. No luck at all - all too orangey and fake-looking. I have never found anything close to replacing that old product.

Will try Clarins next (I've certainly heard good things about it). If that doesn't work, I'll maybe think about giving up the quest for a tan!

Clinique "work out makeup" foundation in "cloud" shade.
Lasted all day and just the right shade for me.

They sold it in the US so I discovered and stocked up there, but then discontinued.

Same with Clinique advanced concealer

FurryLittleTwerp · 02/07/2016 23:03

Original source Tea Tree & Mint Shampoo & Conditioner - fantastically tingly & sorted out my itchy scalp in no time. Sadly no longer around.

NewBallsPlease00 · 03/07/2016 00:04

Not read all replies so apologies if old news, but Claris do a concentrate tan that you put in other czarina products to whatever strength you want - good for us fair maidens!!

RubyGoat · 03/07/2016 00:12

Maidenhair shampoo, by Boots Natural Collection. It was pale blue, I think, & it made my very long hair so swishy & shiny. And cheap! Only thing I've ever discovered that was nearly as good, is a Kerastase shampoo.

VodkaKnockers · 03/07/2016 00:19

Toni & Guy Iron-It heat defence spray and Funky Gum.

They changed the whole line of Tony and Guy and it's shit now.

GinBunny · 03/07/2016 00:19

Avon discontinued my favourite lippy about 5 years ago. I've managed to get some on ebay to tide me over and have about 1/2 of my last one left. I've used other lipsticks to save it for best they just don't suit me. I'm very sad that when it finally runs out I will not look like me again Sad

JaceLancs · 03/07/2016 00:40

Samy curling creme in the yellow tube - not sure if discontinued or just no longer sold in UK
I managed to buy some on Amazon from America but it was quite expensive, thankfully you don't need much

Leviticus · 03/07/2016 00:55

I found some in a pound shop in 2012 and bought 28 bottles

GrinGrinGrin

I'd so do that too.

Salmiak · 03/07/2016 00:59

Elizabeth Arden, let there be light. It was a moisturiser that made your skin have a pearly sheen to it too much and you looked like that vampire in twilight

But when mixed into foundation it somehow magically transformed my look into amazing airbrushed glossy perfection. I can never find the right foundation to suit me perfectly, but just a tiny blob of this stuff mixed into any old foundation and WHAM my eye bags disappeared, my skin tone looked even but natural, I became gorgeous.

When my bottle ran out (after about 2 years) I tried to buy more but the bastardsing bastards had discontinued it, now I can't get hold of it.

If anyone knows of a similar pearly moisturiser then please tell me

MitzyLeFrouf · 03/07/2016 03:38

'Clinique gentle light powder'

It's an actual bloody crime that this was discontinued.

botanically · 03/07/2016 04:40

Bliss Steep Clean Mattifying Moisturiser Sad

selfcontrolofatoddler · 03/07/2016 05:10

Body Shop Olive shampoo and conditioner. These smelled amazing and made my hair so shiny.

Lush Aqua Mirabilis - the original one that fizzed as you scrubbed your body with it, not the bigger version that smelled of rancid digestive biscuits. It was so luxurious to use and made my skin like silk. Actually, Lush are repeat offenders for discontinuing everything that I like.

CatchIt · 03/07/2016 05:27

Stila makeup. Oh how I miss their gorgeous foundation, not too thick, yet applied evenly with just a hint of a shimmer to make you look healthy. Their ey shadows were just perfect.

I've nev r found a suitable replacement though Lancôme foundation seems to be ok.

2ManySweets · 03/07/2016 05:34

Max Factor Gloss Cube; yes a lip gloss but I miss it so much. Nowadays I trawl eBay to fork out extortionate cash for the precious few still available to buy out there.

navygravy · 03/07/2016 08:37

I loved that Body Shop oatmeal soap. I think their Dewberry perfume would make me retch these days however Grin

I despair at anti-antiperspirant deodorants, I can't bear the inherent smell of any of them, even unperfumed ones have that cloying, metallic scent. But back in about 2001 Boots Botanics had a ginger roll-on that was just heavenly and really worked. Sigh.

MorrisZapp · 03/07/2016 08:41

Everything from the Club de Createurs de Beaute catalogue. It had loads of French brands like Agnes B, and the free gifts were amazing. There was a citrus shampoo I still miss.

conkerpods · 03/07/2016 08:50

Lancôme mattifying T zone Gel. I can't remember the proper name but you rubbed a tiny bit in and the shininess disappeared so you didn't feel like you were putting on piles of powder all day.
Any recommendations?

bananamonkey · 03/07/2016 09:14

catchit they sell Stila in the US still, I bought some eyeliner recently from Sephora, I think you can buy it online from there

chocdonutyy I used to love that Boots Natural Collection candy floss lip balm when I was a teenager, it was pink and sparkly and smelled so sweet!

Scoose · 03/07/2016 09:17

I used to love Clinique gentle light powder I miss it Sad also revlon skin lights powder

FirstOfHerName · 03/07/2016 16:48

catchit M&S sell Stila, both in their bigger stores and online.

sulee · 03/07/2016 20:40

Nanasueathome I remember that Estee Lauder hair treatment too- fabulous stuff! My hair is the bane of my life and I miss several other things that have been discontinue over the years- in particular Body Shop Banana pre- wash treatment and Vidal Sassoon protein hair treatment. Most of the newer stuff is meh at best.

Boots Naked Curl Cream SadSadSadSad

BeMorePanda · 03/07/2016 20:57

Seems like there are lots of curl creams being discontinued!

Plumpysoft · 03/07/2016 22:16

Flex shampoo, Body shop oatmeal cleanser and Japanese washing grains :(

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/07/2016 22:23

M&S used to do a range "Formula" (it was a white tube with blue lid )
The body scrub and body wash- amazing
The perfume -originally in an oval frosted bottle , then a cylindrical frosted bottle - gorgeous.
Both replaced by something similar but not as nice Sad

Topaz shampoo and conditioner (in the 90s)

Henera Henna Wax, the original one (I tried one recently, its changed)

There was a gorgeous shampoo in Boots years ago, white with multicolour, tropical scent. I often get a smell of something that makes me pang for this.

Bodyshop used to do a textured seaweed soap
An Oat and Honey scrub (there's a similar one but the texture is different)

L'Occitane Honey Soap, the hexangonal one, I need to go instore and sniff soap (that sounds bad)

Yardley (remember them) not just Lavender Bath Soap, they made ESP Mascara which was a lifechanger for my eyelashes and I always got compliments.
