RIght, I'm getting on, not late thirties at all but thirty bloody nine and I need a wardrobe/image overhaul. What looks passable in front of the mirror in the morning leaves me Mutton and Muffin-Topped in the heat of the day. Do you know what I mean?

What would really help me get an idea of what suits me/I could get away with would be studying the clothes of a prominent person with the same figure. Can you think of anyone who has this odd shape that I can emmulate?

noddyholder · 20/01/2007 10:19

I am that shape too and it is hassle!

sunnywong · 20/01/2007 10:23

oh thank the lord! The last time I posted about this someone told me to stop showing off!

It is a hassle isn't it because what will fit over your tits flaps about the rest of you if it's a dress or a shirt. Anything with a round neck looks like you have a uni-tit and a short neck and I look thick wasted all the time

So what do youdo to get around this noddy?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/01/2007 10:25

i'm in this club too.
PITA!

sunnywong · 20/01/2007 10:28

so who do we look like?
From whom can I draw my inspiration as I approach my MIDDLE AGE/40s/PRIMEOFLIFE/OLD GIMMERAGE?

There, I 've said it, let's give it a name

unless you're 24 PMD in which case you can eff orf

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/01/2007 10:29

31 actually. but feeling older today!

sunnywong · 20/01/2007 10:30

Hmmm...that's OK then, you can have a very long run up to Muttonhood

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/01/2007 10:31

maybe i can nip it in the bud NOW!!

CODNoMore · 20/01/2007 10:31

Hmm

big tits a prob wiht hot climate id say cos of vest top issue
avoid thign straps and find a ncekcline that suits you fo tops

bottoms you can wear combat kind of things as allt eh extra material soesnt exaaagerate big hips.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/01/2007 10:33

NO hips cod. NO hips

docket · 20/01/2007 10:33

I'm not far off that either. Muffin tops are my nemesis. Trying (in vain) to think of someone prominent with matching figure. How tall is tall and how big is 'big tits'?

noddyholder · 20/01/2007 10:33

I buy a lot of scooped neck three quarter sleeve gap tops and wear loose hipster trousers or decent jeans tucked into boots.I also suit empire line dresses in dark plain colours not too smocky though!Shirts look terrible and don't do clingy dresses either.I like loose linen trousers with little tops and fairly fitted small cardigans/Tunics are good if you keep them slim amd wear the right bra

CODNoMore · 20/01/2007 10:33

thats hwat is said
wiht NO hips she Can wear combats

also gatherd skirts type of thign

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/01/2007 10:34

5'8" and DD for me.

noddyholder · 20/01/2007 10:34

My boobs are 36dd! and I am a sixe 12 on the bottom so look toppley at the best of times.

docket · 20/01/2007 10:41

large bosoms and slimmer hips is apparently a 'typical' french figure. so my mother tells me anyway...

docket · 20/01/2007 10:42

don't shoot me but doesn't susannah off 'what not to wear' have this kind of figure? she's definitely alot bigger up top than bottom in any case although may not be tall enough.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/01/2007 10:43

it's so hard to buy for. especially dresses.
i'm a size 12 on the bottom but a 14/16 on top.

noddyholder · 20/01/2007 10:45

I tried to emulate some of susannahs looks til she lost about 2 stone!

noddyholder · 20/01/2007 10:45

My dp calls us topplers!

sauce · 20/01/2007 10:47

anything clingy just emphasises the problem but baggy is just as bad. you end up looking like a walking tent. To cover my muffin, I wear shirts and t-shirts with skinny jeans with a largish waist size so no tummy hangs over.

sunnywong · 20/01/2007 10:54

same here in the bra size
size 10 bottoms because of no hips but jellybelly because of cheese on toast

OP posts:
sunnywong · 20/01/2007 10:57

5 foot 8 too

so anyone got any favourite shops or pictorial links?

OP posts:
AllieBongo · 20/01/2007 10:59

how about 34ff 16 top with size 12 bottom and 5"3 so trousers drag along the floor.. i look like bloody barbara windsor

sunnywong · 20/01/2007 11:00

SNORT!!!
maybe you should loose the ashe blonde feather cut and the half soveriegn necklaces then!

so come on come on let's wrack our brains, who in the movies has this figure and manages to dress nicely?

OP posts:
Bouj · 20/01/2007 11:08

Have same top issues. If I wear tops that don't cling to giant boosies, I get the 'ooh, expecting again??' comments. If I wear fitted tops, I get 'blimey bouj, you are of the large chest'. So no win. I saw pics of Salma Hayek the other day. was amazed that by slight wardobe adjustments, her ample bosom looked proportionate.
